Charles Dance is playing William Randolph Hearst, Tom Pelphrey is playing Joseph L. Mankiewicz and Tom Burke is playing Orson Welles.
Considering both the actors and the people they’re playing who would you say is the likeliest to get nominated?
I personally think Dance and Burke will both get in with the former being the safer one.September 14, 2020 at 2:13 pm #1203706131
Guessing Dance right now. He’s a respected veteran and Hearts sounds like a juicy role.
I was previously predicting Burke, but I’m just not sure enough is role will be big or not.

Supp. Actress seem to be a very weak field, so I can see both Seyfried and Collins getting nominated.September 14, 2020 at 4:50 pm #1203706481
I have Charles Dance in Supporting Actor and Amanda Seyfried in Supporting Actress.September 14, 2020 at 9:04 pm #1203707313
I’m predicting Burke for now, since his role seems baitier. But if Dance gets better reviews than I’ll switch.

What maybe need to be considered is the fact that in the original Jack Fincher screenplay, Welles appear only in one scene. That script was written in, like, 93 so I have no doubt it’s been edited and that might very well have changed. But now that the first promotional photos was released, Burke was nowhere to be seen, but the rest of the cast was.
That makes me think Welles in person might not have that big of a role. Instead, I’m thinking Dance may be the juicier role and be nominated. Sure Pelphrey might be good too but I’m betting on Dance and Seyfried.September 15, 2020 at 4:30 am #1203707669
Both Burke and Dance are quite far down the cast list on Wikipedia for me to feel confident in predicting them; I wonder if they’ll be much more than glorified cameo roles, though I could be wrong about that. It depends where the focus of Jack Fincher’s script lies.September 15, 2020 at 5:09 am #1203707690

Worth noting for Dance, he’s also one of only four actors listed under the starring section, which implies a big role. For the record, that section goes;
