But what I can’t wait to see is meltdowns when Redcarpet pulls a Swank.

Well he already lost on his other nomination so thats impossible.

    The Godfather
    Scarecrow
    Serpico
    Dog Day Afternoon
    …And Justice For All
    Scarface
    Dick Tracy
    The Godfather Part 3
    Glengarry Glen Ross
    Scent of A Woman
    Carlito’s Way
    Heat
    Donnie Brasco
    The Devil’s Advocate

How Pacino with this legendary body of work has only one Oscar is beyond me.

Hopefully next time they get it right and give him the second one.

Yeah, I mean, Colin Firth? Is he actually making movies?

Bale is definitely the first in line. The variety in his catalogue is definitely helping his case. He barely get bad reviews and I’m pretty sure he has his eyes on a leading oscar, he was very close last year. He will probably start to get nominated for basically being in the movie. He’s always in the conversation everytime he has a movie it’s just a matter of time and when till he wins again.

I do not picture Oldman ever winning again.

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

This year may very well be Oldman vs Hopkins, so I wouldn’t dismiss his chances.

I think that academy has finished with Phoenix, sadly. They gave him an oscar just because “they had to”, just because they couldn’t avoid rewarding the greatest actor of his generation (along with di DiCaprio). But i’m sure they won’t reward Phoenix aGain even if he delivers a great performance because he didn’t spend beautiful words about the accademy in the past, he almost never takes part to oscar bait movies and he is not a ceremony friendly person. I’m sure DiCaprio will win his second actually even if in my opinion the academy now has those priorities that i list here in order :

    1) give Bale his first leading role oscar (second overall)

    2) Give B.Cooper his first leading one

    3) Give DiCaprio his second leading one.

    4) Give Driver his first leading one

The Academy nominated Brando the year after his The Godfather acceptance speech delivered by Sacheen Littlefeather, so I doubt that they’re really affected. Joker was such a popular film that I bet a lot of people tuned in to the Oscars just to see Joaquin. The Academy surely cares about $ and viewers more than perceived optics.
