Often times, it seems as though the Oscars select certain child actors for nominations, despite giving somewhat bland performances.

Who, in your opinion, as a child actor, deserved an Oscar nod? Mine choice is Jacob Tremblay in Room.

Saoirse Ronan  (Atonement) was nominated and deserved the nomination.

    Should have been nominated:

    Jacob Tremblay (Room)

Dakota Fanning ( I Am Sam)

    Jodie Foster – Taxi Driver.

She was nominated for an Oscar. In fact, she even won a Bafta, LAFCA and NSFC award for her performance.

Brooklynn Prince – The Florida Project

She should have been nominated (and have won, IMO) last year for his beautifully natural performance in the best movie of 2017. Her last scene (SPOILER), crying and after going to Disney World, was touching in every way.

Abraham Attah- Beasts of No Nation (I voted for him to win the Spirit Award and am proud of doing so.)

Dafne Keen- Logan (I voted for her to win the Saturn. She did so much impressive acting with just her eyes and how intense she was that I’m still pissed that she was snubbed for the terrible likes of Mary J. Blige and the fine yet forgettable likes of Lesley Manville.)

Haley Joel Osment- A.I. Artificial Intelligence (I use no hyperbole when I say with the utmost confidence and sincerity that this is one of the greatest performances in cinema history. Forget merely deserving an Oscar nomination, Osment should have outright WON that award. I loved Denzel Washington in Training Day and he was my favorite performance of the 5 nominees for sure, but damn that Osment snub deeply stings.)

For your Goldderby Film Awards consideration: Isle of Dogs for every category, especially Music Score for Alexandre Desplat!
