Regarding imdb, maybe I’m wrong, but I think everyone can edit it. For HOG somebody edited its imdb page and said that it was premiering at countless fall festivals. I think this was after a tweet that some people misunderstood.
Here you go, just some examples, there are more, but so far none for November:
ReplyCopy URLOctober 20, 2021 at 6:44 am #1204527952Do you have a source for that? Gerwig listed as uncredited is very strange though. It’s either inaccurate or maybe Baumbach changed some things for the film.
It hasn’t wrapped yet. Casting notices are listed under the title “Wheat Germ.” See https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.projectcasting.com/casting-calls-acting-auditions/netflix-wheat-germ-white-noise/%3famp
Mildly interesting useless trivia- Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig are playing a married couple, and their children in the film are being played by Sam and May Nivola, who in real life are the son and daughter of White Noise co-star Alessandro Nivola and his wife, actor-writer-director Emily Mortimer.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 30, 2021 at 9:20 pm #1204549091According to Driver’s personal hairstylist, filming officially wrapped. He posted an IG story of him departing Cleveland on a private jet a few hours ago.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 3, 2022 at 1:40 am #1204693589White Noise was listed by Deadline as one of the major 2022 films that could premiere at film festivals. No mention of Greta Gerwig in the description. I wonder if Jodie Turner-Smith might end up having a bigger role than Greta: https://deadline.com/2022/01/harry-styles-timothee-chalamet-kristen-stewart-most-anticipated-movies-2022-1234900705/
From Deadline: Marriage Story director Noah Baumbach returns with an adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel about a year in the life of Jack Gladney, a professor who has made his name by pioneering the field of Hitler studies. Adam Driver, Jodie Turner-Smith, Raffey Cassidy and Don Cheadle lead cast on the Netflix and Plan B Entertainment charge.

Yes, but she’s now listed as “uncredited” on IMDB. I noticed that change after the film wrapped. It wasn’t like that during the beginning of filming.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 3, 2022 at 5:10 am #1204693880In the book Greta’s character is the second most important. There are hardly any other female roles of much significance, so unless Jodie is playing someone who wasn’t in the book or her role gets beefed up, then Greta’s role should definitely be more prominent.

Well she can’t be playing Adam’s wife bc they wouldn’t be hiring white child actors 😂. Easy to solve that mystery.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 3, 2022 at 5:16 am #1204693888It’s possible Jodie is playing an entirely new character since Babette-Greta’s character-is the main female character in the book. If I’m not mistaken, Babette and Jack (Driver) don’t have kids together. She’s his fourth wife, and his kids are from his past marriages.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 3, 2022 at 5:21 am #1204693899I think Adam said during house of gucci promo that he was taking a break this year. Whatever that means to him.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 3, 2022 at 9:51 pm #1204695529According to the film’s IMDB page, Barbara Sukowa is credited as Sister Hermann Marie. I haven’t read the book, so I was wondering if she’s in it. We already know that Raffey Cassidy and Sam and May Nivola are playing the kids, and May is credited as San. Their father, Alessandro Nivola, has a small role in the film.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 4, 2022 at 9:26 pm #1204697597Found some interviews of Alessandro Nivola talking about his children being in the film:
People Magazine: “It definitely wasn’t something we were encouraging,” Nivola tells PEOPLE at the US Open in New York City on Friday about his son and daughter pursuing acting. He explains, “Noah went to their school when he was looking to cast the kids for his film. He called up the school and asked who they had, and they offered up a handful of people that they thought were talented, and then he got excited about them.”
“At that point it felt cruel to tell them they couldn’t do it because it was such a high-class project,” Nivola continues. “Not only are they doing this project that’s made me and my wife green with envy, but they’ve upgraded their parents to Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig!” Source: https://people.com/parents/alessandro-nivola-kids-many-saints-of-newark-sopranos-us-open-exclusive/
Dujour: The film stars Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig as the siblings’ parents and the duo had a month—a luxury practically unheard of in Hollywood—to rehearse and get comfortable. “It was the most civilized and hilariously unusual situation,” says Nivola, “but Noah tells me they’re doing great.” Source: https://dujour.com/culture/alessandro-nivola-the-many-saints-of-newark/
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 4, 2022 at 9:29 pm #1204697607From The Times: Nivola’s children are the reason the family swapped Brooklyn for Cleveland in the summer. Sam, 17, and May, 11, are playing Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig’s children in Noah Baumbach’s new film, White Noise. Nivola and Mortimer, his wife of 18 years, are on “chaperone duty”, he says. “We sit around all day waiting for them to come home from work.”
Nivola also did an interview with The Film Stage’s podcast, and he said (around 36:00) White Noise is more “cinematically stylish” than anything Baumbach has done before: https://thefilmstage.com/the-b-side-in-conversation-with-alessandro-nivola-part-ii/

Here’s the description for White Noise:
WHITE NOISE
At once hilarious and horrifying, lyrical and absurd, ordinary and apocalyptic, White Noise dramatizes a contemporary American family’s attempts to deal with the mundane conflicts of everyday life while grappling with the universal mysteries of love, death, and the possibility of happiness in an uncertain world. Based on the book White Noise by Don DeLillo.DIRECTOR: Noah Baumbach

I’m not shocked about the budget being high because I read in an article it’s reportedly $80 million. Baumbach reportedly changed DP’s mid-shoot, and shooting went on for 9 months. I wonder if Netflix’s recent decision to no longer court prestige directors for “vanity projects” is going to have an impact on the exclusive deal they signed with him: https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2022/6/baumbach
