Never did I say I wanted or expected a “lookalike contest.” I hoped for resemblance of some sort, which this is not close to being. I’m fully allowed by my own damn opinion.

you ARE allowed to your opinion….and I stated mine. There’s no need to get defensive.

There isn’t yet an actress that can play my queen Whitney! No ones taking on that role. It’s too epic for any actress to handle apart from my queen Viola and they don’t look the same so…… as a gay black man I speak the truth

Seems like you got your wish. The actress chosen to play Whitney looks more like Viola than Whitney..

Sony has now set IWDWS for a December 23 2022 release, perfect time for Oscar eligibility.

Is it safe to say now that Naomi Ackie has the best chance of being the first black woman since Halle Berry to win the best actress oscar considering Jennifer Hudson has no chance of winning this year?

Well, Naomi Ackie is going to be playing a real life icon. That could definitely appeal to Academy members because in their minds, it would feel like they’re awarding Whitney Houston herself. Plus, I think anytime Anthony McCarten is writing a biopic, we have to keep a lookout for it in the Oscar race at this point.

Wait to make and hair does their magic. She has amazing bone structure like Whitney did.

fantastic and inspired casting, and hear his speaking voice this is a no brainer. Naomi Ackie, Moses Ingram, and Ashton Sanders…..all relatively unknowns…and I love that. It will make the story more absorbing.

Great choice in Ashton Sanders playing Bobby Brown.

Clive Davis also mentioned in an interview last week that meetings have taken place with Stanley Tucci and Sam Rockwell in regards to playing him in the movie but no one has officially been cast yet.

It would be good to get at least one well known actor for this film.

I’d go with Sam Rockwell out of the two. I don’t know, but Stanley Tucci seems like an expected choice for this role, for some reason.

I can already see Sam Rockwell in the Clive Davis make up but I think Stanley Tucci would be good in the role as well.

Considering filming is due to begin this week, we should know any day now whose been officially cast.

I’m real scared for this! There is no one that comes close to Whitney in many decades, besides Mariah, and even with all her #1’s the diva herself would admit she’s no Whitney. This is dangerous territory doing a biopic on her.

I feel like I’ve seen him play voice of reason supporting roles a few times now…..(Julia/Julia, The Devil Wears Prada, Burlesque). So he would be good, but I like the unexpected choices they have already gone with (Ackie, Ingram, Sanders)

Although…..I think Taraji P Henson would make a fantastic Cissy Houston.

I’m hoping this will be as good as What’s Love Got to Do With It
