If Lucy/Desi turns out to be amazing…..then she will tough to beat

ReplyCopy URLOctober 29, 2017 at 6:12 am #1202359074I’m pretty much sure the answer is Cate Blanchett. She does prestige performances more frequently than everyone on this list.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 29, 2017 at 6:19 am #1202359245Denzel, probably within the next 3-5 years.
After that, maybe Blanchett at some point down the line.
I can’t see any of the others winning a 3rd. Either their film careers have completely slowed down (or like Hackmam, retired), they are past their prime with the Academy or aren’t consistent enough.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 29, 2017 at 6:27 am #1202359451Cate Blanchett.
Only Cate and Denzel have a relevant shot in my opinion…
ReplyCopy URLOctober 29, 2017 at 6:33 am #1202359618To be honest, of this bunch, I only see Denzel and Blanchett as likely/potential 3 time winners.
For various reasons, I feel like most of the others, even those who are legends, have had their window of opportunity to be 3 time winners closed. There is still a slight hope for Hanks, as he’s still an A-lister and still working with top directors in films the Academy likes, but having not even been nominated in 17 years, the Academy may simply be over him as an actor.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 29, 2017 at 7:16 am #12023609701. Tom Hanks 2. Cate Blanchett 3. Denzel Washington

Odd order. Washington was indifferent to ever showing how much he wants it. Sure you’ll a disappointed look on his face when he loses. But he really wanted another for Fences. Roman Israel is sure to garner him eighth nod. But it would be so preferable if he could beat Day-Lewis once.

Gene Hackman is retired.

October 29, 2017 at 10:23 am #1202368493Hilary Swank. I simply love her. I truly don’t know why. Maybe it’s a Midwest thing. She has such a real style of acting. I want her to go 3 for 3. That would piss of everyone.

However, I would love to see something a little off-book such as Jodie Foster winning a third Oscar for Directing.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 29, 2017 at 3:22 pm #1202375586Denzel and Cate for sure … Someone might have a one off movie that gets them a suprise win but these two are working hard and always turn out awards worthy work.
