We’ve talked about people who are overdue for a win, but who is someone you think is overdue for even one nomination? There were some people I had to eliminate to meet the maximum number of poll options, and I’m sure there are a bunch of people I forgot anyway.

i voted for mia farrow, because she won’t act in a movie anymore, in my opinion, but i would like to mention Bruce willis, who is still active in the film industry !…

I would say that the Dumb and Dumber duo of Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels; both have given many performances that deserved more recognition than they have received. I’d also like to mention Paul Dano, whose performances in Little Miss Sunshine, There Will Be Blood, and Love & Mercy were all deserving of a Best Supporting Actor nomination. I’d also say that there are quite a few British actors, like James McAvoy, Paul Bettany, and especially Michael Sheen, who deserve to have ‘Academy Award Nominee’ ahead of their name.

Personally, I think Paul Dano. He’s been so consistantly great for so many years.

I’d also like to mention both Andrew Garfield and Emily Blunt. Both have a great mix of fantastic performances, but also been included in some more mainstream hits. Would love to see both of them nominated someday soon.

Indeed. Among these choices, I went with Farrow, though Carrey is quite overdue too.

You’ve already mentioned some great people so here are others worthy of nomination: Isabelle Huppert, Daniel Auteuil, Gong Li, Michelle Yeoh, Steve Buscemi, John Goodman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kurt Russell, Sam Rockwell, Meg Ryan, Kevin Bacon, Loretta Devine and of course…

Funny. Buscemi, Ryan, Sutherland, Garfield, and Dano were all among the names I had to cut. Forgot about some of the others mentioned, even though I agree they would be very deserving.

I saw Steve Jobs twice and both times was hoping for Jeff Daniels to win best supporting actor. I don’t see how anyone could watch the movie and not agree.
