Had to do this again because the previous poll edited out Cate Blanchett lol.

This was a heavily contested topic on the 2020 Best Actress thread so I thought I’d spin it off to another thread. Discuss!

She was eligible for the 2017 Oscars.

The Lady in the Van sounds like a prequel to Nomadland. Is it good?

I recommended you to see it. That ending just wow… so perfectly acted and directed.

An un-nominated Emily Blunt for Sicario.

Charlize Theron should’ve been nominated and WON her second golden dildo that year. It’s a shame she was nominated for that Megyn Kelly SNL skit rather than Mad Max.

But from the women who where actually nominated, Brie Larson was an amazing winner. I think I still prefer Charlotte Rampling performance, but few people actually saw 45 Years, so I understand why Larson won and I’m totally fine with that. Room is a fantastic film and should’ve won Adapted Screenplay too.

Cate Blanchett was great as usual but she didn’t deserve a third for Carol. I wasn’t a fan of that movie tbh.

Saoirse Ronan was fine, but she did that performance in her sleep. Brooklyn was boring and the girl needs to stop being typecast in coming-of-age period dramas.

J-Law shouldn’t have been nominated for anything she did after Winter’s Bone.

Wait THIS. The ending scene of Blunt in Sicario is chills. Sadly Sicario was never an Academy friendly movie.

    Smith was excellent.
But Rampling ATE. She DEVOURED everybody in that faulty lineup.
And Mara really deserved her nomination in Lead 😢
