Without a host all we get is boring, overlong, pretentious speeches.

Yes but we could get the same thing happening with the wrong host.

I think Dave Chappelle would be a great host.

Idk why hosts have to be funny actually. Just welcome everybody, present the awards and wrap it up. Lol.

It is a crime to be funny nowadays. And those that people say successfully do it without offending anybody, are not funny at all. Not even chuckle in your head kind of funny. None of them. No exceptions.

Just be hostless again or just have a formal host moving things along.

I just love movies. And awards.

I’d kinda prefer having no host again tbh. Last year’s ceremony was so quick and snappy: just presenting award after award after award, which is the stuff we all care about anyway. I’d much prefer that over a bunch of dumb skits like what we had in the past.

If we did have to have a host again though, I remember Chris Rock being really good in 2015: he addressed the #oscarssowhite controversy really gracefully and was pretty funny. Tina, Amy, and Maya would make a good hosting trio too: they were a hoot last year.

    For Your Consideration.

I Have my usual mixed feelings because I agree with both sides.
I’d prefer seeing more clips from the nominees rather those skits. But some of them I enjoyed so it’s a gamble.

Oprah’s my dream host, but beyond that, #NoHost is perfectly fine.

My idea is to have three hosts: Tiffany Haddish, Queen Latifah and Lena Waithe. I think they would make a tremendous trio and would light the Oscars on fire. It would be really funny to see them riffing off each other.

I think Ryan Reynolds should do it. He has charisma, a funny bone, and generally no controversies under his belt. The question is, will he do it as himself or as Deadpool?

Oscars 2020: I stan Joaquin Phoenix, Willem Dafoe, Alan Silvestri, and Dean Deblois.

Emmys 2020: I stan Logan Lerman, Olivia Colman, and David Harbour.

Tom Hanks and Amy Adams stan in general.

Y’all say you don’t want a host then get pissed off when the Academy compensates by announcing Best Popular Film and nominating BoRap for picture. The host is what mostly draws in the 99% of people that doesn’t follow awards season.

No host was a great way to go last year and I’d rather they didn’t have a host this year either so they’d prove last year’s great ceremony wasn’t a fluke. Instead of a Queen performance, they can open the ceremony with a 10-12 minute performance of Original Song nominees, which would silence the “I don’t want to see songs performed, what is this the Grammys?” crowd. Then the first award of the night would be for the Original Song for a better transformation, it would look good imo.

If there has to be a host then pay whatever’s necessary and give her the freedom she needs and get Phoebe Waller-Bridge to host.
