Robert De Niro is playing William Hale
Leonardo DiCaprio is playing his nephew Ernest BuckhartBoth were evil and despicable human beings who manipulated and murdered Osage people for Money in early 20th Century.
Good guy and lead of this story/novel is character of “Tom White”.
He was a Texas man sent by J Edgar Hoover to investigate Osage Murders and hence FBI was born.I think Matt Damon will be good fit for the role especially after seeing him nail Texas persona in Ford v Ferrari
Shooting starts first week of March 2020.
Who do you think should be playing it?ReplyKubrick-Tarkovsky-Scorsese-Bergman-Bresson-Kurosawa

January 22, 2020 at 6:54 am #1203298481Has the role not been cast yet? Seems like they’re leaving it a bit late.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 22, 2020 at 7:04 am #1203298489This is not a Netlfix release is it? I want Scorsese to be able to win with this if he knocks it out of the park which he probably will.

No suprising only De Niro and DiCaprio are big names that have been cast as of now and shooting begins within a month.
DiCaprio was initially playing Tom White but recently he changed to Ernest Buckhart.
If they are following David Grann’s book then whoever plays Tom White is lead of this film. This is not a Netlfix release is it? I want Scorsese to be able to win with this if he knocks it out of the park which he probably will.
No,it is Paramount’s

Agree, I understand directors have their favourites but after some point it becomes tiresome.

January 22, 2020 at 8:39 am #1203298760It obviously won’t happen but I wish Scorsese could get DDL out of retirement to be in this film. He would be better suited to one of the bad guys though.

January 22, 2020 at 10:25 am #1203298934How about a First Nations actor as a Texas Ranger?
Or will we make this all about “saviour-ism”? And make sure the cast has Native actors. 80% at least. How’s THAT Marty?

Oh good. I think if The Irishman was a Paramount release it would be a bigger contender this year.
