- The Last of UsJanuary 28, 2023 at 8:28 am #1205272409I want a legend to present Best Picture like in the last few years with Liza, Jane Fonda and Rita Moreno. Sophia Loren, Julie Andrews, Barbra Streisand, Eva Marie Saint, Shirley MacLaine, Liv Ullmann, Maggie Smith or Cher are some of the ones I remember right now.
Ian McKellen & Patrick Stewart together would be amazing. Also, John Williams just to get a standing ovation.

ReplyCopy URLJanuary 28, 2023 at 8:59 am #1205272458^Now there is an idea I can certainly get behind, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart would be a near magical moment. A pairing of those two would certainly be memorable and worthy of a best picture presentation.
I understand you should always be careful singling someone out when it comes to in memoriam tributes, as the Emmy Awards found out a few years ago, but I would love to see John Travolta and Stockard Channing present. That would be a nice tribute in itself to Olivia Newton John. They could even come out to “Hopelessly Devoted to You” playing in the background.
Whatever they do this year or whoever they decide to include as presenters, I truly hope it helps bring some prestige, movie magic, and awe back to the Oscars. I would love to see another moment like when Lady Gaga surprised everyone after her beautiful tribute to the Sound of Music by introducing Julie Andrews. Those are the kind of moments I miss seeing at the Oscars.

“This is a Life”: James HongJanuary 28, 2023 at 10:58 am #1205272587I think there’s a chance that Phoebe Waller-Bridge will present an award because she’ll likely be attending anyway as Martin McDonagh‘s significant other, and because it’s a way to plug the upcoming Indiana Jones movie.
I also think there’s a chance that Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston will present together because their new Netflix movie will drop two weeks after the Academy Awards ceremony.
Finally, I think there’s a chance that Jennifer Coolidge and Christopher Guest, who have often collaborated, will present together, in part because everyone wants to see Jennifer Coolidge, and in part because Guest will likely be there anyway with Jamie Lee Curtis.

ReplyCopy URLFYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

She’d be GREAT but don’t they usually go with a former Academy Award winner?
I think that Jeffrey Kare had a very good guess— George Clooney. If he’d do it, I also think it might be Denzel Washington.

ok i love that suggestion lol but very unlikely since gaga is probably performing
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 28, 2023 at 12:55 pm #1205272660Theyll prob get Tom Cruise to present something. Prob would’ve been picture if he wasn’t nominated himself. I’m assuming he will present Best Director or Best Actress.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 28, 2023 at 1:04 pm #1205272675Fun fact: The only nominee to ever present himself or herself with an Oscar was Irving Berlin. In 1943 there were TEN nominees for Best Song, and Berlin won for composing “White Christmas.”
It would be sort of fun to see Lady Gaga or Rihanna present the Best Song Oscar to… herself….
