In terms of performance, I would say Vikander and Mara go neck to neck. It’s no secret though both of them are the lead in each of their film. I would say Leigh take the bronze, Winslet in 4th, and McAdams at last place. Despite all that, I mostly feel this category gave the strongest and diverse performance than the other 3 acting categories this year

Performance wise, I went with Rooney Mara. I’ve been outspoken about my disdain for category fraud. But this isn’t exactly the strongest category, so who cares. Although if Kristen Stewart or Alicia Vikander for the right movie (Ex Machina) had been nominated, then my choice would be simpler.

I think that Alicia Vikander gives the best performance, but it’s so clearly a leading performance that I daren’t vote for her. She’s literally “The Danish Girl”. I went with Rachel McAdams.

Jennifer. Jason. Leigh. I watched The Hateful Eight 5 times just to witness her performance over and over again, She is by far the best SUPPORTING ACTRESS no farud! Her performance is one I will never forget and will alaways be in awe of, if only she could win.

I haven’t seen Danish Girl, but I can’t stand category fraud when it comes to winners. So it’s Leigh or Winslet for me. Leigh is my favorite, but because Winslet is the one with the better chance to take down Alicia, I’m rooting for her.

Like Supporting Actor, this is a tough one.

1. Jennifer Jason Leigh – The Hateful Eight
2. Rooney Mara – Carol
3. Kate Winslet – Steve Jobs
4. Rachel McAdams – Spotlight
5. Alicia Vikander – The Danish Girl

The top 4 could change easily. All are brilliant performances – Vikander was better in Ex Machina.
