All three are leads. Nicole kinda the most supporting and Julianne is the most lead. She’s the only one who’s in more than one timeline. But like I said, all three are leads. Nicole is the best of the three for me, while Meryl is easily the worst. Toni Collette was incredible in her short screentime and I also liked Ed Harris. Didn’t care for anyone else.

I once told Toni that she was incredible in The Hours (my favorite movie of all time) and she even said “Oh I was barely in that”.

She later touched my arm and told me I was “sweet”. My favorite celeb interaction.

I actually think Meryl gave one of her best performances so I am disappointed that she didn’t at least get a nomination. The three women knew their characters inside and out so I have no complaints with how the awards season played out.
Ed Harris was exceptional. Miranda Richardson, Toni Collette, John C. Reilly and Stephen Dillane deserve recognition for their work.

I’ll join the “all three are lead” train, with Kidman having the most substantial part. She also gives the best performance of the three, by far; and I’d take Harris over Streep and especially Moore, as well. The last one gave two awfully calculated and tedious performances that year.

I just saw today that Goldderby gave their best actress award to Julianne Moore in Far From Heaven over Nicole Kidman in The Hours.
