Post your predictions.
For starters, we all know that Idris Elba will get more sponsor cards than any other person in the history of Academy awards lol.March 2, 2016 at 1:42 pm #219937
All the nominees who aren’t already.
Elba, some of the Straight Outta Compton cast, Oscar Isaac?, Michael B Jordan, Priyanka Chopra?, any other minority presenters from Sunday.
And Shonda who missed out on making the cheerleading team.March 2, 2016 at 2:21 pm #219939
Is Jacob Tremblay too young? Probably.March 2, 2016 at 2:21 pm #219938
All of this year’s Oscar nominees and winners who are net yet members of the AcademyMarch 2, 2016 at 2:38 pm #219940
The sponsorship angle is gone now over cronyism complaints, but I’d have to assume that three of the four acting winners this year aren’t members yet (Larson, Rylance, & Vikander). Elba for sure if he isn’t already. Rampling? If we’re seriously considering Jacob Tremblay, then I hope Abraham Attah gets the bid too. Oscar Isaac? Michael B. Jordan for sure. Domhnall Gleeson for his great year. Edgar Ramirez? One I’m personally rooting for is Mya Taylor. That would turn heads no question.March 2, 2016 at 2:45 pm #219941
This thread is such a bait but I’ll swallow.
Lots of black folks.March 2, 2016 at 2:50 pm #219942
Is foreign Oscar presenter Byung-hun Lee a voter yet?March 2, 2016 at 3:18 pm #219943
Adam McKay (he’s friends with Peyton Reed). He’s a shoo-in.March 2, 2016 at 3:30 pm #219944
Boomer had listed the names of invitees since 2004. Apparently Rampling was invited in 2005(Wow.Still late.) and Elba isn’t a member yet. http://www.goldderby.com/forum/topics/view/11581 Agree with AMG on all presenters being invited. As for this years nominees… Rylance isn’t listed there and he didn’t do many movies before 2004 but he could still be in. If he’s not, then, surprisingly only acting nominees from this year who are not members yet are 3 winners+ Rachel McAdams. A fresh year for sure.March 2, 2016 at 3:39 pm #219945
No idea if these people are in already or not
Andrew GarfieldMarch 2, 2016 at 3:54 pm #219946
Of this year’s acting nominees, the only ones not already members are Brie Larson, Rachel McAdams, Mark Rylance, Alicia Vikander, and possibly Jennifer Jason Leigh (her rep told me she is not, but then said she wasn’t sure). All of the other 15 people have at least been invited and/or joined.
For the directors, Lenny Abrahamson and Adam McKay are not yet members (maybe not George Miller, but he probably is).March 2, 2016 at 3:59 pm #219947
For people discussed in this thread, all of the following are already members…
Jacob Tremblay and Abraham Attah are too young to be invited (without corresponding nominations) and don’t have enough screen credits.March 2, 2016 at 5:47 pm #219948
Dakota Fanning was invited at 12. But the film credit argument still stands.March 2, 2016 at 6:45 pm #219949
Didn’t Michelle Williams only get in on her third nomination? I think I read that here. The criteria is odd if so.
