Only Katherine Hepburn has ever achieved this feat.

I think it will go like this (from most likely to least):

    1. Meryl Streep
    2. Frances McDormand
    3. Sally Field
    4. Glenda Jackson
    5. Jodie Foster
    6. Hillary Swank
    7. Jane Fonda
    8. Olivia deHavilland

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

I think the first actress to win Best Actress 3x  hasn’t won her second one yet.

I think Meryl could again, but I also am inclined to think Blanchett will. One pretty soon (Lucille Ball biopic?) and then one in 20/30 years.

I honestly think Jennifer Lawrence could do it. She’s still so young, and she is not slowing down whatsoever. I see her winning number two sometime within the next decade (by the time she’s forty), and then a third when she achieves legend status, probably sometime in her sixties.

Blanchett won’t win a third one soon, not if Meryl had to wait so long. I believe Streep will end up winning a fourth.

Why is Olivia de Havilland leading this poll?

I reckon Blanchett was reeeally close to a second BA win for Carol. She is so talented that it can happen soon. Hell, she got a GG nom for Bernadette. Clearly she doesn’t even need “the right role,” she just needs to be excellent, which she consistently is.

Blanchett was a distant 4th. No way was she winning for Carol.

Idk about that…Had she not won for Blue Jasmine, I think she would’ve won here. The performance was win-worthy, even though the timing/narrative wasn’t, so I think that bodes well for a second BA win soon…
