Blanchett has Nightmare Alley soon right?

    Yep.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", AMANDA SEYFRIED FOR "MANK", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

Denzel. He has Macbeth coming up and that looks promising to get him a 9th, and then he just needs one more.

Speaking of Macbeth, Frances McDormand will have 6 with Nomadland, and possibly a 7th with Macbeth. I wonder how far she can go?

I don’t understand the resistance to Denzel Washington? He’s the exception to the rule for Black actors at the Academy. He will win a 3rd and have double digit number for nods. And everyone seems to insist someone else will get their first!

It’s nothing to do with Denzel and everything to do with upcoming projects – Pacino is closer and could get there for Gucci, Blanchett is three away sure but she has a raft of stuff coming up – post Macbeth, which would only take him to nine, Denzel’s slate is a bit unknown.

No one is saying he won’t get there, but it’s not ludicrous to assume that someone gets there first.
