Had their TV movies been released theatrically- who would have been nominated or won an Oscar?

1974: Cicely Tyson- The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman (I think she would have absolutely swept and made history)

1998: Angelina Jolie – Gia (She’d have swept over Gwyneth I think)

2000: Halle Berry – Introducing Dorothy Dandridge

2012: Nicole Kidman – Hemingway and Gellhorn

Julianne Moore – Game Change (I think she would have won)

    2015: Queen Latifah – Bessie

2018: Laura Dern – The Tale (I pretend that this is what she won her Oscar for)

This actually was theatrically released in the UK and she got a BAFTA nom.

Michael Douglas Behind the Candelabra 2013

I remember Steven Soderbergh being upset about it not getting distribution in USA.

Did watch it at cinema in my country though.

Thought for sure he would have won Oscar

Halle winning the Oscar for Dorothy Dandridge rather than that Monster’s Ball bullshit would have been so pitch perfect and poetic 🙁

First black woman to win Best Actress for portraying the first black woman ever nominated. And the exact role Halle was born to play

    FYC

    AOTY - Renaissance

Angela Bassett, Michelle Yeoh, Brian Tyree Henry.

Julianne Moore would have swept for Game Change instead of Jennifer Lawrence/Jessica Chastain/Emmanuelle Riva.

Jessica Lange – American Horror Story: Asylum… I’m telling you that’s her best work throughout the entire series. It was amazing.
