They are both the same age (both born in 1977) and at the top among their contemporaries.
So who’s the better actor among the two?
Vote in the poll and sound off in the comments.
ReplyMay 14, 2020 at 5:09 am #1203480878Hardy. Fassbender is gonna win this cause people still think it’s 2011 when he was acting with his dick but it isn’t. He’s done. He sold out and it doesn’t help that he aged attrociously.
Hardy is everything Fassbender wants to be but isn’t – charismatic, likable, looking younger than his age, hit movies.

Hunger
Shame
Prometheus
12 Years A Slave
Steve Jobs
May 14, 2020 at 6:33 am #1203480971It’s close, but I gotta go with Hardy.

People think Hardy can act? Oop.

The most important criterias to judge who is a better actor. So when will these forums start appreciating The Rock, you think?

The Rock deserves more appreciation than Fassbender. At least The Rock knows his place and that’s why he’s top boxoffice since the early aughts. OTOH, Fassbender thought he was going to be the boxoffice and flopped miserably dragging his whole career down with him. So yes, it pays off to be smart and aware of your limitations.
And I still don’t think that fassbender is a good actor. he’s insufferable overactor. His histrionics in 12YS were razzie worthy.

When he gives a performance that demonstrates his range isn’t paper thin.

To be fair, you’re missing Warrior, Legend, The Dark Knight Rises, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Mad Max: Fury Road, Lawless and The Drop from Hardy’s resume. One could even go so far as to say Child 44, Venom, and Capone are worth mentioning as well – not because they’re good (they’re not), but because Hardy’s performance is the only thing worth mentioning in them.

I mentioned only the four best performances of each.
Since you mentioned all of these Hardy films, then I will also mention Macbeth, Fish Tank, Inglorious Basterds, 300, Jane Eyre, A dangerous method …
In other words, Fassbender still better.ReplyCopy URLLetterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/IsabelaOlivie/
May 16, 2020 at 2:25 am #1203484469I did like both of them and thought quite highly of them in their early days but they both feel so passé and stale now.
