The actors are all solid but nothing more imo. I like the younger new actors better than the veterans.

Looking at other potential nominees I think The Papers is very likely, with a good chance for the new Paul Thomas Anderson movie, maybe The Greatest Showman, Downsizing, Suburbicon, Call Me By Your Name, MOther!, Murder on the Orient Express (a large international ensemble cast), and Mudbound has what previous winners The Help and Hidden Figures had: interracial and both gendered casts.

Some other possibilies: All the Money in the World, Molly’s Game, Wonder Wheel… any others?

No, it definitely won’t. Enough said right there.

It could but I’m not predicting it.

SAG tends to have a quirky lineup as they nominated movies such as: Captain Fantastic, Get Shorty, Hairspray, and Bridesmaids so I am predicting at least on of Get Out, The Big Sick, or Girls Trip gets in.

The Papers seems like a sure bet IF it gets good reviews and I think CMBYN should be fine.

They have gone for musicals that were not critically raved in the past so maybe Beauty and the Best gets in but I think its hurt that most of the cast is animated for most of the movie. Maybe The Greatest Showman gets in.

Early releases tend to do good with SAG so Some other films that SAG could nominate are: Detroit, Logan, The Glass Castle, The Beguiled, The Meyerowitz Stories, Mudbound, and battle of the Sexes.

And then of course we have all of the Oscar bait movies we haven;t even seen yet.

It should but I doubt it does unless it ends up steamrolling the Best Picture race.

If this becomes the front runner than yes. Because it could win BP. But it can’t without the ensemble nomination.

Dunkirk will be overshadowed by other prestige movies in the pipeline. Doubt it’ll be a consensus unifier.

It’s not a lock by any means.

It’s won’t, it doesn’t have a sjw message which is like candy to SAG voters and greatest Showman will get the token ensemble nomination for the film not lgbt, race, or politics.

Doubtful. If it does, however, that means it’s probably very much in contention for the Best Picture win.

That Jackman movie will be too bad to earn SAG recognition.

did that stop 37% RT/ 49 Metacritic musical movie Nine from getting a SAG ensemble nomination and an individual supporting actress nomination for Cruz?

Did the SAG not also nominated Moulin Rouge!, Chicago, Hairspray, Nine, Les Miserable all for ensembles with Moulin Rouge and Hairspray not getting any individual SAG nominations? And Hairspray being in no BP radar at all. I give you mama mia as a musical that missed.

    It seems very unlikely.

Nine had Weinstein backing. Michelle Williams and Huge Jackman are not consensus ralliers. Nor do they carry the prestige weight of Nine to begin with.

Probably not, although it’s not all that impossible. Like last year, SAG will nominate movies with diverse casts and where the actors have oscar moments. The ensemble of Dunkirk isn’t diverse and all the performances are subtle. So it’s seems unlikely.

But we know two things. First, if Dunkirk has a SAG ensemble nomination, a BP victory will be way more easy. Second, the stunt ensemble victory is already a lock.

The Greatest Showman looks bad and it might be controversial because the movie doesn’t look like it’s about the real P.T. Barnum. Barnum was not a champion of diversity, he was a con-man who exploited people(including children and slaves)
