So, I recently found out that DiCaprio with his recent nomination for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, managed to get 6 Acting nominations at the age of 45, which makes him the third youngest male actor to achieve that, above him only Nicholson and Richard Burton who both achieved that at 44 years, only one year younger.

Which prompted me to ask the question, do you think DiCaprio, who is in his prime and halfway the journey, and with the career that he has now, has an actual chance of equaling or even surpassing Nicholson’s record of 12 nominations??

Vote in the poll and sound off in the comments.

DiCaprio is not nearly the exciting actor he was pre-Titanic.

That’s ridiculous. He’s one of the best actors in the business.

I’m really not sure if he’ll make that record, but it’s possible.

Not true sis ! He had hella hit movies in the 2010’s (actually all of his movies were hits)  and no one is more consistent than him when it comes to working with prestigious directors who do Oscar movies. He’s the biggest and most prestigious movie star of this generation

There’s a long road until he reaches 12 noms but if anyone can do it atm, it’s him

Pre-Titanic?! Do you actually mean that? I don’t even know if I’ve seen any of his movies pre-Titanic.

He has had a fair share of under-performing movies under his belt, like J. Edgar, Revolutionary Road, Body of Lies and especially The Beach which was supposed to be a mega-hit after he became the king of the world in Titanic but couldn’t even gross 40 million in the US.

I liked The Beach more than most of his movies.

Pantheon of acting: Uta / Elizabeth / Richard / Sandy (Virginia Woolf), Bibi / Liv (Persona), Sandrine (La Ceremonie), Brie (Short Term 12), Jodie (Silence of the Lambs), Jodie (Killing Eve), Eva (Penny Dreadful), Timothée (CMBYN), Lupita (Us)

I mean, he was a known star before Titanic for terrific performances in films like What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?, The Basketball Diaries, Marvin’s Room, and Romeo + Juliet.

DiCaprio has been at the very least a very good actor and a commanding screen presence since This Boy’s Life with WEGG being one of best teenage performance of all time.
Only place,I think he was lesser than his usual self was The Beach 2000.

Talking about whether DiCaprio will match Nicholson’s record of 12 acting noms solely depend of choices he takes in future.

Seeing how he is managing his career especially in 10s,I think he will match 12 acting nom, maybe even top it.
That is of course if he acts until he is in his 70s and doesn’t take long breaks.

I still have unpopular opinion that DiCaprio’s best is yet to come and older DiCaprio will be a better actor.I can see him being a brilliant older/character actor and also an ArtHouse film actor.

Even Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper might end up with 10 or plus nominations seeing their record and film selection recently.

Denzel Washington is 65,fit and healthy and on 8th nominations as of now also.He can do it too.

I think that’s the main problem for some people who don’t find his work exciting. He doesn’t take any risks anymore.

He gets cast in quality films and is in demand with studios and top directors. He’s also very respected by his colleagues which you need since the actors nominate actors. I’d say it’s very much possible.

Possible but Denzel would get there before he would. More respected than Leo, anyways.

I was talking about his run during the 2010’s where J. Edgar was his only under-performance
