Tom could help with this, but I remember reading on an Oscar prediction site that doesn’t exist anymore that Marca Gay Harden was campaigned in lead and they changed the category following her NYFCC victory. Given that the deadlines for SAG submissions are early (they must have been early even back then), could Marcia Gay Harden have been a lead submission for SAG? I think it’s quite possible.

I’ve thought about this and actually having him #1 for both categories he’s in. I might change my Supporting Actor predictions before next week, but I think he’s winning for Luther.

Let’s remember SAG TV choices are some of the most laziest award choices out there. Elba might win on name alone, add sympathy people might feel for him and it might be a landslide victory.

Indeed. Amy Madigan was initially campaigned in Supporting, with Harden Lead. Post-NYFCC, they pretty much ditched the Madigan campaign and went all-in for Harden in Supporting. Not sure about SAG specifically, though.

Idris Elba won the sag so, this is the 1st time an actor not nominated for an Oscar win the SAG for the same performance !… i wonder if the academy members feel guilty or sorry for his snub !…

Can’t the award just be because of his performance?

A second win. Wow, SAG really felt bad about his snub didn’t they? (sarcasm, it’s obvi because he’s a great actor)

Get it, Idris Elba!  Glad he won twice.  The White People’s Awards should be ashamed of themselves.  #OscarsSoWhite

So because they picked actors over them it can’t be because they thought they were better? Jesus you people

I have one thing to say about all this Oscars so White controversy.

Why do black actors blame the Academy? After all, in fact THE ACTORS are the ones who vote for ACTORS. Film editors vote for film editors, composers for composers, cinematographers for cinematographers…

Shouldn’t be “Actors don’t vote for Black people”?

Or is the Academy a metaphor they’re using instead of actors?
