Chalamet is currently 24yrs old and has 5 years or so to break Adrien Brody’s record of being youngest Best Actor Winner in Oscars history.
I think Chalamet is winning Best Actor in next 4yrs.
What do you think?

I don’t think it’s conscious, more like subconscious thing but Academy loves to see young beautiful starlet actresses on the stage with Oscar, it’s great picture, but not so much with young actors. They will always go with veteran over some teen heartthrob.
And don’t get me wrong Chalamet is a good actor but there is much more smoke than actual fire there, hords of teenage fangirls making him the best thing since Moon’s landing can skew perceptions.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 23, 2020 at 11:39 am #1203300555The problem will y’all is that you straight up assume he’s an award darling just because he got 1 nomination for a very, I say very unconventional film.
Chalamet isn’t some kind of Bale or Cooper or any mature acclaimed actor. Why do you keep associating him with awards? He got lucky to get that nomination in the 1st place. His snub for BB should be telling, the guy needs to prove himself before he wins or even get nominated (again) before a veteran/older/other acclaimed actor.

Lol Wes Anderson films rarely get acting nominations let alone wins so doubt it.

This honestly.
I like him as a actor but the Chalamanics make me want Lucas Hedges, Nick Robinson, Ansel Elgort, Tom Holland or literally any other film twitter twinky white boy of the month to win first.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 23, 2020 at 1:08 pm #1203300688I don’t know. I agree with Luanne. I think it’s too early to assume that the Oscars love him yet. I think Chalamet is very talented and deserved his previous Nomination so this is not a knock against him. All I can say is that I hope that he plays in better stuff than tripe like Beautiful Boy.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 23, 2020 at 1:10 pm #1203300691I do think the brody record will be broken within a few years but not by him, they’re gonna grind him a bit while someone, maybe an unknown, gets it out of the left-field

Or wish for a non-twitter twinky white boy of the month to win first!
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 23, 2020 at 1:40 pm #1203300724As many people have pointed out, Chalamet is sort of this generations Leo DiCaprio, and look how long they took to give him one. He got nominated for his breakout film performance, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they hold off for a while for him to really grow into himself.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 23, 2020 at 1:50 pm #1203300736He will just sign up for a James Dean Biopic with an acclaimed director and he should be fine for another nom and possible win.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 23, 2020 at 1:56 pm #1203300746No. They only like to give awards to young Actresses like J.Law, Emma Stone, Alicia Vikander, Anne Hathaway & Brie Larson.
I mean this picture alone could give you an idea of what they usually like for actor and actress:
Maybe when he’s in his 40s and he gets a great role like Casey Affleck did.
