Diane Keaton an iconic role that people are still talking about 38 years the film came out and she won.

I never unterstood the hype surrounding Hemingway’s performance. I think she was pretty terrible and seemed to be reading most of her lines, with little to no emotion whatsoever.

Well, Hemingway has typically been a rather divisive actress. I happen to think she’s terrific in “Star 80” and “Personal Best” too, but I know several folks who find her wooden and amateurish across-the-board. In my humble opinion, though, she’s spot-in in all of these roles. As I said before, there’s a real lived-in quality to her work. When I watch “Star 80,” I pretty much forget that it’s an actress portraying Dorothy Stratten (same goes for Eric Roberts, but that’s another topic). And she’s just so sweet and lovely in “Manhattan.” And heartbreaking Her scene with Woody at the soda parlor kills me every time. “I can’t believe you met somebody you like more than me.”

He and Diane Wiest really did good work together. I love her in both Hannah and Bullets plus she’s also really funny and likable in Radio Days as the sister desperate for a husband.

Not considered an acclaimed performance BUT I love Diane Keaton in Sleeper. She is so funny. There was a PBS profile of him a few years ago and they showed behind the scenes footage of the film being made. At one point Allen can’t stop laughing at Keaton’s impression of his mother. He keeps cracking up so much that he eventually runs behind a tree and tells them to keep filming Keaton while he goes to laugh.

I saw  that PBS Documentary about Woody Allen it was wonderful. I loved when she said “He is crippingly shy” as for best actresses in his films, those would be Keaton Wiest and Blanchett
