I struggle with this. Angelina is admittedly good in A Mighty Heart. Even nomination worthy. But her casting is very problematic. Even if Mariane Pearl approved it. They were better off getting Thandie Newton.

Yeah I agree. Pearl wanted her to do the role despite being white, which is tricky in and of itself – but it might have been better had they not then clearly attempted to make her look more like Pearl.
