My top 5 worst films of this decade, and I’m going to use films that were truly awful and left me boiling with rage. No wannabe Oscar contenders here: 1. Dirty Grandpa 2. Fist Fight 3. The Brothers Grimsby 4. The Emoji Movie 5. Hot Pursuit Of these films, The Emoji Movie was easily the worst animated film I have ever seen in her life. Not only does it have some of the most annoying characters in the history of animation, but the film is nothing but product placement. Now, Dirty Grandpa, oh boy, where do I start with that one? That film is not only the worst film of this decade, but IT IS LITERALLY THE WORST FILM I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, AND THAT’s NOT AN EXAGGERATION!! How it failed to win a single Razzie, especially for Robert De Niro and Aubrey Plaza’s performances, I will never understand. My God, the vulgarity and raunchiness was so disgusting and so copious that I’m amazed I didn’t walk out. Never have I seen such incompetence put on display in a film. Nothing about this story works. NOTHING!!! Pete Hammond wrote the most glorious scathing review for this film, and it is PERFECT!!! Read it for yourself, because he is 100% correct. https://deadline.com/2016/01/dirty-grandpa-review-zac-efron-robert-de-niro-worst-ever-1201688276/ If anyone ever tries to defend this film to me, I have advice for you: don’t even bother, because there is nothing to defend. This film is the equivalent of a wasteland left behind by an atomic bomb. That’s how bad it truly is.

To be fair, Kristin Wiig (who I normally like) deserved her win that year. She was in four atrocious movies (Zoolander 2, Ghostbusters, Sausage Party, Masterminds), and it only seemed right that she take home the Razzie.

Anyway, the real crime about Dirty Grandpa is how Jason Mantzoukas (who I’m not exactly a fan of, but I think he can be very funny at times) wasn’t nominated. His role was one of the most annoying characters I’ve ever seen in my life. Much like Oliver Cooper’s (also should’ve been Razzie nominated) despicable character in the similarly abysmal Project X, it was blatantly obvious that the writers were desperately trying to make him into the “Eric Cartman” fan favorite. Needless to say, both films failed miserably in doing so, resulting in completely unsympathetic and painfully unfunny assholes.

    Destroyer (2018)
Nicole Kidman has wasted her talents on clunkers before but never has she looked so awful doing so.

    Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
This piece of s h i tut actually won Oscars.

Kathy Bates for Best Supporting Actress (Richard Jewell)

One of my most hated things in life is misbehaving children. And parents that are awful humans. Watching those things for two hours in a movie made me want to run out of the theater.

Ahh, I am a school teacher in a low income elementary school. This is interesting because I saw this film with my best friend and he hated it for very similar reasons. I love how our own personal experiences and beliefs can really shape the type of films we love or hate.

YES!!! Jason Mantzoukas was so goddamn annoying as Pam the drug dealer that the fact that the Razzies snubbed him is among the worst mistakes they’ve ever made. And even if Kristen Wiig had several bad movies in 2016, I’m not sure how she’s more awards worthy than Aubrey Plaza as a college student who lusts after a man 50 years her senior, and then marries him and has his baby. Just disgusting!!

To be fair again, Wiig was awful in all four movies. Someone of her talents should be above such trash. The same could be said for Plaza as well, but Wiig really hit a mother load of clunkers that year, and her performances were terrible in all of them.

I generally stay away from movies that get bad reviews because I just don’t want to waste my time watching them lol, unless the trailer interested me or I’m a fan of an actor or actress in it – but from what I remember seeing this decade, these are what come to mind

    – Bohemian Rhapsody: I’m a huuuuge Queen fan and I love Lucy Boynton but this was genuinely bad. Just completely rewriting history at some points. It probably wouldn’t make my list though if it wasn’t such a huge success.

    – Beautiful Boy: This was just such a watered down version of what the movie looked like in my head when I first heard about it. I hate movies that think they’re giving some nuanced, raw portrayal of addiction (or anything else) when they’re really just giving the most straight forward, manipulative, with regards to emotion, version of the story. The acting was also very subpar. I wasn’t even impressed by Chalamet, I thought he was just okay. And any movie that has Amy Ryan in it, but wastes her talent, is a bad movie in my book.

    – Good Time: This was just such a bore. It doesn’t help either when you go into a movie with these high expectations and they’re just not close to being met – not even in the same vicinity lol.

    – The Florida Project: I’m so not interested in watching ~2 hours of little kids just doing ordinary little kid things that amounts to absolutely nothing lmao. It felt like babysitting almost.

People hating on The Florida Project obviously missed the point. It objectively doesn’t belong anywhere near a thread called “Worst Films of This Decade.”

The Florida Project was also a slight disappointment for me but that ending was perfection. Brooklyn Prince made my best actress lineup that year.

It’s totally okay if you were disappointed by it, but writing it off as just misbehaving children and incompetent mothers is really missing the mark. Sean Baker described the film as excavating a hidden America that isn’t in the fore of our lives or the media everyday. The whole film was just a window into the day-to-day routine of the hidden homeless and a compassionate portrait of adolescence.

Anyway…Here goes my top 5. I’m not going to include films which only purpose is to entertain a certain audience and get money because they don’t care about critics at all.

    1.Vox Lux

    2.Raw

    3.Victoria and Abdul

    4.Destroyer

    5.Philomena

I thought Victoria and Philomena were both cute and easy what is your reasoning for disliking them so ?

Phantom Thread- Whta a freaking snooze fest

I HATED it the first time I watched it but upon a second and third viewing, it has really grown on me and is one of my favorite films of the decade! Consider another viewing!
