Just my opinion, but I hated 2015! It was just category fraud after category fraud with filler nominees and hardly any aspired choices..

Alicia was a co-lead and should have been nominated for Ex Machina instead, Rooney Mara was a co-lead and very vocal about it and Rachel McAdams was just a boring coattail filler.. Only Kate and Jennifer warranted a nom here while Helen Mirren, Jane Fonda, Julie Walters, Mya Taylor, Kristen Stewart, Cynthia Nixon and Joan Allen were all overlooked

I totally agree with you. Madams had no business being in that line up and the category frauds were just too much to handle

Taron Egerton (Rocketman) for best actor. Charlize Theron looks great in Bombshell teaser

    2018 & 2019

I agree but to elaborate on this point, I feel like the actress catagories were so good imo they just gave them to Alison Janney and Regina King. They were the front runners throughout the Oscar season and most of them felt filler when other supporting roles felt more deserving.

Minimal 3 weak nominees or the weakest possible winner of the slate.

2011. That year’s best supporting actresses (Shailene Woodley for  “The Descendants” and Carey Mulligan for “Shame”) were robbed, while the actual nominees gave forgettable performances.

I hate this category. The last two winners didn’t deserve to win and there are a lot of category frauds all the time.

Allison Janney was great in her role and was by farrrrrrrrr the best nominee that year. As for Regina King, some precursors knew she did nothing to warrant a nomination let alone win

Janney was great and deserved to win but do NOT do Laurie Metcalf like that! She was the front runner until she wants the front runner! Put some respect on her name!!!

I have to agree with 2015 being an odd year since two of the actresses were actually leads. Rachel McAdams nomination confused the heck out of me. She didn’t really even say much in Spotlight. Mark Ruffalo is the one that stole every scene in that movie. I also have to say the 2012 Oscars was a weird one. Melissa Mccartney got nominated for Bridemaids that year.

Melissa McCarthy deserved that nomination though.

McCarthy was the best out of the that year line up by a mile. She’s still one of the Academy’s best and most original nominations of the decade. Still surprised they went that cool.
