I thought this could be interesting, as a twin to the other thread about greatest living actors without nominations. Who do you think is the least talented living actor/actress to have scored an Oscar nomination or even a win?January 3, 2018 at 12:31 am #1202454169
Gabourey Sidibe is a pretty terrible actress.January 3, 2018 at 12:41 am #1202454175
Lucas HedgesJanuary 3, 2018 at 3:52 am #1202454246
Kevin Costner. I think he can give good performances on the most rare of occasions like in “The Upside of Anger” or even “3000 Miles To Graceland,” but most of the time he seems comfortable completely phoning it in.
Also, Sean Penn is overrated as all hell and didn’t deserve either of his Oscar wins. He also got robbed of a Razzie nomination for “Gangster Squad.”

Almost all thespians who have been nominated are actually really good. I have to give that to the Academy.
I would say Gwyneth Paltrow is very one-note as an actor, although she is more interesting as a performer than she gets credit for.
Sylvester Stallone is not a good actor either and he’d probably be the first one to admit that.
Halle Berry is good but she has not been able to live up to her potential.
I have always found Kenneth Branagh lacking in the charisma department but he’s by no means a bad actor per se.
I’m also tempted to list Jean Dujardin here but I’m not actually all that familiar with his body of work. He might be a lot better than I think. Same with Roberto Benigni.
Jon Voight never impressed me but this could be a matter of personal taste rather than his actual talent.January 3, 2018 at 4:25 am #1202454261
Actually, Roberto Benigni is BY FAR THE WORST, living or dead! I forgot about that guy, but he was Razzie-worthy in Life Is Beautiful, his Oscar-winning PG-13 Holocaust Concentration Camp Comedy. Trying saying that without almost vomiting.

I think Emma Stone is a great actress, so this doesn’t perfectly fit, but she did not deserve it for La La Land. I was pretty disappointed in the Academy for that one last year.
Would’ve preferred Ruth Negga or Taraji P Henson.January 3, 2018 at 9:27 am #1202454470
