Alicia Vikander should have gotten her Oscar for Ex Machina.
Willem Dafoe should have won for The Lighthouse.
Uncut Gems should have been nominated for a ton of stuff, but especially Best Actor and Original Score.

I second you on that one, my friend. One of my favorite performances of any actor last year.

I agree. Every instance of the branch snubbing the DGA winner has looked really petty tbh.
I’d also have given Bradley Cooper a Directing nom for ASIB; he could’ve easily taken McKay’s place. Not the biggest snub but I don’t think it’s been mentioned yet.

Andrew Garfield for The Social Network
Shailene Woodley for The Descendants
Carol for Best Picture
Steve Jobs for Adapted Screenplay
If Beale Street Could Talk for Best Picture
First Man for Original Score
Won’t You Be My Neighbor? for Best Documentary Feature
Little Women for Best Director
Titane for Best International FeatureReplyCopy URLFYC: Bad Sisters (Anne-Marie Duff) Cunk on Earth (Diane Morgan), Fleishman Is in Trouble (Lizzy Caplan/Claire Danes), Industry (Marisa Abela/Myha'la Herrold), Physical (Rose Byrne), Poker Face (Ellen Barkin/Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Chloë Sevigny), The White Lotus (Sabrina Impacciatore)
January 11, 2022 at 5:06 pm #1204716632Jake Gyllenhaal-Nightcrawler (also was nomination worthy for Nocturnal Animals, Prisoners, and Stronger)
Ben Affleck for director for Argo
Leonardo DiCaprio for Django Unchained
Ridley Scott for The Martian
Andrew Garfield for Social Network, Silence (was way better in that then his cringe forest gump impression in Hacksaw Ridge)

January 11, 2022 at 5:10 pm #1204716642Lupita Nyong’O for Lead Actress (Us). Especially THIS since she was the Best Actress in 2020.
With Ben Affleck winning directing for Argo everywhere, Oscars snubbing him for Best Director was a PURE SHOCK.
David Oyelowo for Lead Actor (Selma)
Hong Chou (Downsizing) for Supporting Actress. It was shocking she didn’t get nominated.
Alfre Woodard for Lead Actress (Clemency)

I’m okay with this, because now Jane Campion can have the honor of being the first woman nominated twice.
