The New York Post gives it 3 1/2 out of 4 stars (or 88/100 on Metacritic):

^My brother and I already have our tickets for tomorrow’s 10pm showing as well. I’m crazy excited. More than I was for ‘The Avengers’ even.

Saw the midnight showing last night (well technically this morning) and it’s very good. Definitely a massive step in the right direction for superhero movies. The cast are brilliant; but it’s mostly McAvoy, Lawrence, Fassbender, Jackman and Hoult. Which could be expected I suppose. Evan Peters I thought was brilliant as Quicksilver, even if he was a gratuitous character. Ellen Page out of all the old X-Men has the biggest part besides Jackman, which is good for her. Won’t spoil anything but definitely worth the watch. And stay to the very end 🙂

The dialogues sounded a bit silly to me quite a few times, but since I had to see a dubbed version, I’ll give the movie the benefit of the doubt on that front. There’s a good chance that the lines sounded better in English and/or the actors delivered them with more conviction. Even then by blockbuster action movie standards the script was okay, and sometimes even pretty good. The cast was also utilized well, truthfully most of the sequences didn’t require much of them, but the main actors still got their moments to shine here and there.

Overall this is definitely the second summer blockbuster I’d recommend after Captain America, but I liked the two for very different reasons.

The only “Negative” its more mixed review from a major critic so far is from Amy Nicholson who says there is too much exposition, but not enough in her review.  It’s a bit of a double talk and she gives it a C+.

I think this is Kinberg’s strongest script for the sake that it blends the humor with the dark aspects of the story perfectly.

I too will be seeing it again on the big screen as there was so much I loved about this one. I can safely say that this is my favorite ‘X-Men’ film thus far. And the ending?! PERFECT. I was thrilled.

Encouraging news all ’round! I’m planning on going this weekend. I’m already a fan of the series so I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy it.

This is the highest-rated title in the X-Men series on Metacritic.  Sweet.
