    He’s an amazing talent.

I particularly love Mommy (his masterpiece) and Laurence Anyways. But J’ai tué ma mère, Tom à la ferme and Les amours imaginaires are fulfilling delights, too.

I was underwhelmed by Donovan, but the post-production of that movie was very unfortunate. Will rewatch Juste la fin du monde, and Matthias & Maxime, too (which I find a more mature work).

Can’t wait for hist first series! I’ve read the plot and it seems another ambitious project.

Jodie Comer, Elisabeth Moss, Carey Mulligan, Alicia Vikander supremacy

I liked Mommy but I really have a hard time with the rest of his filmography. His films are so style over substance that I get bored really easily. The stories and characters are also kind of lackluster.

My ranking out of the 4 films I’ve seen :

    1. Mommy (3.5/5)

    2. Laurence Anyways (2/5)

    3. Les Amours imaginaires (2/5)

    4. J’ai tué ma mère (2/5)

The only film I’ve seen is It’s Only the End of the World and I really enjoyed it. I’m interested in watching Mommy and Tom at the Farm. I’m also interested in watching The Death and Life of John F. Donovan too..

I was very excited by his initial films, especially as a fellow young cinephile, but sometimes his privilege and entitlement come through and I admit I haven’t been rushing to see his past few films.

If I were to rank off the top of my head today of what I’ve seen, I would put:
    1. I Killed My Mother (I’m often excited by this kind of revelatory first-time feature, though)
    2. Laurence Anyways (I think the casting won’t age too well but the actual execution of it is quite immaculate)
    3. Tom at the Farm
    4. Heartbeats (hated)

His Adèle videos are obviously good too lol.
