After watching Parasite, I am starting to take an interest in foreign films. I already watched The Insult (Lebanon) and Indochine (France i think).

Now i am looking for suggestions. Drop your top five favorite foreign films and the country that produced them. English language films made outside the US counts too.

    Mine
    1. Parasite (South Korea)
    2. The Insult (Lebanon)
    3. Hotel Mumbai (australia and india)
    4. Life is Beautiful (Italy?? Havent watched it in a long while)
    5. Indochine (France)

Haven’t watched a lot of these so this will change soon. Maybe. Looking forward to your suggestions.

I just love movies. And awards.

    Bicycle Thieves (Italy)
    Pan’s Labyrinth (Mexico and Spain)
    Parasite (South Korea)
    Y tu Mama Tambien (Mexico)
    Downfall (Germany?)

City of God (Brazil – the best IMO)
    Central Station (Brazil)
    Son of Saul (Hungary)
    Amour (France)
    Amélie (France)
    All About My Mother (Spain)
    Talk to Her (Spain)

    RAN Kurosawa
    Dersu Uzala Kurosawa
    Rashomon Kurosawa
    Z Costa-Gavras
Get Out Your Hankerchiefs Bertrand Blier
    Fanny and Alexander Ingmar Bergman

I realize that’s more than 5 but I can’t take one off. There’s tons of great ones out there and imo they’re often better films than the ones we get this side of the pond.
