If “Spectre” is indeed Daniel Craig’s final 007 film, who would YOU like to see portray the next James Bond? Go on and give us your dream casting choices.
As a refresher, former Bond headliners have been:
Sean Connery (1962–71; 1983)
David Niven (1967)
George Lazenby (1969)
Roger Moore (1973–85)
Timothy Dalton (1987–89)
Pierce Brosnan (1995–2002)
Daniel Craig (2006–present)October 23, 2015 at 11:53 am #196263
People have been asking me this question for over a year.
Didnt Daniel say he’ll be in at least one more after this one before he ‘retires’ from the series?
I cant be colour-blind where James Bond is concerned. If they cast an actor with little or no ‘pink’ in his skin, I’d rather see a series with him as the Bondish character in his own right.
But since Bond is a white male and out of his teens/twenties and perhaps his thirties as well, they’re going to cast an actor that audiences find er, a sexpot.
No way I’m going to reveal that about my own choices here this time, but they do have a myriad of guys to pick from. But, how many of them would also have that Bond charm and athleticism?
I recall starting a thread over a year ago speculating on Tom Hardy. I’m not so sure anymore about that choice.
Dan Stevens might be a tad too young. Could Michael Fassbender pull it off? Jude Law? Or how about an off-off choice like Sam Worthington?
I like the idea of a ‘search’ for relatively new talent ala Vivien Leigh? Not that such a search would produce the mania that GWtW did.
That would be marvelous.October 23, 2015 at 12:27 pm #196264
Grantland has the answer for the next Bond by process of elimination. The result is interesting to say the least.October 23, 2015 at 12:39 pm #196265
I had Groot picked from the start…..and he’s got a soft spot too….October 23, 2015 at 12:42 pm #196266

I would be into the Damian Lewis pick that has been going around but it would be nice if they would go younger. Idris is 43 and Damian is 44 so it would be nice if they picked someone in their 30’s to keep them around longer. I would say someone like Andrew Garfield but he may be a bit too boyish still to play the part. He looks a lot younger than he really is. Kit Harrington could pull it off but he seems a bit too young as well.October 23, 2015 at 7:26 pm #196274
Elba’s the obvious choice but yes, he is too old.
How about, wait for it…. Emily Blunt?October 24, 2015 at 6:58 am #196275

I hope you are joking… Neither Garfield nor Harington would be able to even get closer to what is expected from Bond.
Honestly, I would choose between Fassbender and Cavill. And I would like to live in the world where Idris Elba is the new James Bond…
