There’s so many I love and adore and can’t live without, but the two I most gravitate towards are Cotillard’s Piaf and Cruz’s Raimunda.  Just peerless work, and the moment they transformed before my eyes into real bonafide forces of nature.

Bening in Being Julia, Roberts as Erin Brokovich, and Kidman as Satine usually finish off my Top 5, but that’s a rotating wheel for sure, Cotillard and Cruz aside.  🙂

Felicity Huffman for Transamerica, Ellen Burstyn for Requiem for a Dream, Reese Witherspoon for Wild, Kate Winslet for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Meryl Streep for The Devil Wears Prada. These are my favorites.

Also, I think the academy did a really good job rewarding Brie Larson for Room, Natalie Portman for Black Swan and Julianne Moore for Still Alice. Really like Jennifer Lawrence’s performance as well but I understand who says Emmanuelle Riva did a better job.

    Renee Zellweger, Bridget Jones’s Diary

It makes me so happy that back then such performances were recognized, like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. I loved Zellweger in BJD
