The Grammys normally have some nominees to represent a rule change.
For instance, when Rap/Sung Collaboration (had to be at least two artists) was made Rap/Sung Performance (acknowledging solo performances), Drake won that year.

I mean it works with Megan’s favor, she hasn’t released an album, but has 1 mixtape and 3 long EPs, that’s considered 4 albums in the Grammys eyes. The no required albums helps her case which might allow her to be nominated.

i’d have to see the nominees, but i wouldn’t be shocked if they get at least one win. we know they’re liked already but i guess we’ll find out how much
What are some possible albums that could be nominated in AOTY but not nominated in their genre category? (i.e. Black Panther OST, NFR!, I Used to Know Her, 7, Dirty Computer). I believe The Highwomen could be one since there is debate on whether they should submit to Country or Americana Roots.
I think:
-Future Nostalgia, since it could get Melodrama’d.
-Hollywood’s Bleeding, since Post’s last album didn’t get a Pop Vocal nomination.
-After Hours, since the R&B panel is weird. He’s a 2x winner in the Urban Contemporary Album (now Prog. R&B) category, so they could go with someone else.
-A Written Testimony, Eternal Atake, My Turn could all get into AOTY and miss Rap Album.
-I could see The Slow Rush being only in AOTY due to how competitive Alternative Album is.Honey, it would be cute if Chloe x Halle won Best R&B Performance.
