What a weak year so far… below are some contenders, but I don’t think any of them are even close to locks. Hopefully the back half of the submission period is loaded. I’m hoping for Florence + The Machine and Arctic Monkeys to break through with the Grammys this year and maybe we’ll see Rihanna and Beyoncé or a Beyoncé/Jay Z album. I’m throwing Janelle Monáe down there as a wishful thinking kind of prediction.

    Album:
    Beautiful Trauma – P!nk
Black Panther Soundtrack – Various Artists
Boarding House Reach – Jack White
    Dirty Computer – Janelle Monáe
From A Room Vol. 2 – Chris Stapleton
The Greatest Showman Soundtrack – Various Artists
Man of the Woods – Justin Timberlake
Meaning of Life – Kelly Clarkson
    reputation – Taylor Swift
    Songs of Experience – U2
The Thrill of it All – Sam Smith

    Record:
All the Stars – Kendrick Lamar & SZA
    Delicate – Taylor Swift
Finesse (Remix) – Bruno Mars feat. Cardi B
    God’s Plan – Drake
Make Me Feel – Janelle Monáe
Meant to Be – Bebe Rexha feat. Florida Georgia Line
The Middle – Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey
Perfect Duet – Ed Sheeran with Beyoncé
Say Something – Justin Timberlake feat. Chris Stapleton

Finesse could win ROTY, but Delicate is now a strong contender to win SOTY.

Also, Drake is not going to win SOTY because hiphop music will never be recognized by the Recording Academy. Taylor is surely an early contender for SOTY even though the Delicate song is flopping.

Honey, the reality is, Taylor Swift may NOT win any Grammys this cycle. Her songs are flopping.

I think Say Something will get nominated in Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Man of the Woods however will only garner a Best Pop Vocal Album nod.

Get real! Say Something is not getting SOTY.

I agree with Miguel! Get real! The lyrics of “Say Something” are so repetitive that they could have been written by a 1st grader. Extremely lazy songwriting.

She might win only one or two Grammys this cycle.

No, that’s not true. She might win any Grammys next year. Her best chance to win in next year’s Grammys right now are Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Solo, and SOTY. And she will lose AOTY likely 50/50.

Miguel mate, calling Taylor as a strong contender for SOTY is really quite honestly odd. Where is your basis for this? My fav is P!nk, i might as well call Beautiful Trauma for SOTY if you are going to call Delicate.

Well, since SOTY is about songwriting, Delicate is quite strong contender lyric and production wise. Critics love it and tbh, no other song is using vocoder like her in this eligibility period that are praised by critics and public.

If flopping is being the biggest sales of album in this eligibility period, then any singers want their album to flop like her. Grammy always give best pop vocal album to the one that commercially succeed in last 3 years (1989, 25, Divide) so reputation may snatch this category again
