I still don’t understand the Ed Sheeran snub. How did these 7 songs get more votes?December 7, 2018 at 10:16 am #1202693274
I don’t think Shallow has Duo group in the bag. Tony Bennett could end up taking this. He’s got all the old fart support.Music Advocacy For Singers, Composers and ProducersParticipantDecember 7, 2018 at 10:18 am #1202693276

Thrilled that Demi Lovato was able to receive a 2nd Grammy Nomination! Especially after the year she has had.December 7, 2018 at 11:49 am #1202693401
The way we all thought Perfect Duet was a lock..and a frontrunnerDecember 7, 2018 at 11:51 am #1202693407
I love how two of our frontrunners (Delicate and Perfect) didn’t get a nom, and our “sure lock” in Pop Vocal is now shaky as ever.Music Advocacy For Singers, Composers and ProducersParticipantDecember 7, 2018 at 12:02 pm #1202693421

She is still the frontrunner, don’t be so excited. Ed Sheeran won Best Pop Vocal Album last year but got shut out this year having the biggest song of the year that everybody knew and loved- and that song was from the album that won last year…Taylor is still Taylor and she has been making headlines for being snubbed this year so this also helps her case</p>December 7, 2018 at 12:03 pm #1202693422
Ed Sheeran was done a Lorde. Missing spots to seven nominees. And it was the frontrunner.
The pop field is going to be interesting this year. I think the “Joanne” (one of my favorite songs from Joanne) does more for her chances for “Shallow.” Or she could make a clean sweep.
Beck beat everyone in AOTY. He definitely is the veteran pick here. I have him winning Pop Solo. The top 40 votes are going to be split among Camila, Ariana and Post Malone.Music Advocacy For Singers, Composers and ProducersParticipantDecember 7, 2018 at 12:06 pm #1202693425

Yes, that’s exactly what I think. Havana and Better Now are very similar (catchy, a little urban), Camila and Ariana are basically on the same level of popularity this year while Beck gets the rock, alternative and older more conservative pop votes. That would be amazing. I hope he wins cause he writes produces and plays instruments on his own…Quality over popularity!December 7, 2018 at 1:30 pm #1202693502

i’m glad i hold on to my feeling that Gaga will be nominated after her remarkable year with this great vocal performance.
what surprises me is Beck getting in over many better vocal performances with commercial appeal. after all this field was always going after the mixture of good & commercial (charting on BH100).
i didn’t like either Perfect (Solo) or Perfect (Duet), but it’s strange that this successfull record, still charting on AC chart, got snubbed to make place for Aguilera/Lovato, Backstreet Boys & Tony Bennett (only BSB charted on BH100. the last track/non-charter on BH100 nominated here was Dearest by The Black Keys).
what saddens me is complete lack of Florence + the Machine, mostly for Hunger 🙁
i’m quite happy for Say Something. i really like it & it is a very good vocal performance.
TPop is the only category i got 100% right 😉
seeing Post Malone here makes me vomit. seriously – one of the Best Pop Solo Performances of the year?December 7, 2018 at 1:49 pm #1202693533
I am more surprised that Color wasn’t nominated in either SOTY or ROTY than its nomination in Pop Solo.December 7, 2018 at 1:50 pm #1202693534This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.
