These categories are a mess. The Backstreet Boys? Christina Aguilera? Lady Gaga for an old album track? Beck? This screams a panel but it’s not.

A panel definitely wouldn’t have put the Backstreet Boys in, especially given the accusations raised against Nick Carter this year.

i’m glad i hold on to my feeling that Gaga will be nominated after her remarkable year with this great vocal performance. what surprises me is Beck getting in over many better vocal performances with commercial appeal. after all this field was always going after the mixture of good & commercial (charting on BH100). i didn’t like either Perfect (Solo) or Perfect (Duet), but it’s strange that this successfull record, still charting on AC chart, got snubbed to make place for Aguilera/Lovato, Backstreet Boys & Tony Bennett (only BSB charted on BH100. the last track/non-charter on BH100 nominated here was Dearest by The Black Keys). what saddens me is complete lack of Florence + the Machine, mostly for Hunger 🙁 i’m quite happy for Say Something. i really like it & it is a very good vocal performance. TPop is the only category i got 100% right 😉 seeing Post Malone here makes me vomit. seriously – one of the Best Pop Solo Performances of the year?

So it was you lol. I remember seeing one person picking Joanne. I was like WTF is he crazy? Well done

The problem with posters here. You guys think that the Grammy’s pick solely based on commercial performance and “metacritic scores”.

I think it’s time to realize, that people do listen to some submissions and vote based on what they really like, regardless of commercial performance.

If you have someone as known as Beck, the voters are less likely to skip his submissions. They’ll probably give it a listen. Also Gaga performed Joanne last year at the Grammy’s. So most voters probably know the song.
