A “Be Careful” snub is possible, though. It’s not a very big hit and may not be a song that defined Cardi’s breakthrough year to many.
But Rap Performance tend to go to big named artists. “Be Careful” is also not a typical Cardi B song about money and fame. That could have appealed to panelists.
I’m safer predicting Rap/Sung and Rap Album nominations, though.December 5, 2018 at 6:50 pm #1202690385
The most memorable thing about “Be Careful” was Cardi’s performance on SNL. I believe she announced her pregnancy doing that song.
I would be surprised if it’s snubbed. Cardi has dominated the entire year. And the nominations should reflect that. Even if the song didn’t do as well as “I Like It”.

Any chance Nicki could sneak a nomination? “Chun-Li” was a really good song, a decent hit, and has been doing well on many critics lists.December 6, 2018 at 7:45 am #1202691300

6LACK made it in again. I really didn’t expect it especially with an August album. It’s very deserving and I’m glad he has strong industry support. One nom is way better than nothing.December 7, 2018 at 3:48 pm #1202693711

The Rap panel at work. If Scorpion didn’t make it this year, More Life would have been snubbed last year had it been submitted.
Daytona should win Best Rap Album, but Cardi will easily take it. Travis Scott could win it, but Cardi is the biggest act in contention and the only female. The category is stacked for Cardi to win it. She deserves it.December 7, 2018 at 8:50 pm #1202693896
I don’t think there’s an obvious winner for Rap Album. Cardi and Travis are roughly on par with each other commercially and critically, and there’s a very respected artist in the running posthumously.December 7, 2018 at 9:46 pm #1202693930

No shade, but Mac Miller wasn’t “very respected” before he died. This is his first nomination ever. Let’s not get it twisted. He was a panel pick.
Posthumous wins are not popular in the urban categories. Aaliyah, Sharon Jones, Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac all missed wins. Mac Miller is not winning or will not be a threat on his first nomination posthumously. C’mon now. Pusha T has a better chance than Mac Miller.
If there’s another winner here, it will be Travis Scott.December 26, 2018 at 12:14 pm #1202710524
LOL. this is the funniest thing I’ve read on this entire forum. Not very respected? OK… he was about to be. At least listen to the album start to finish before you make a comment like that. Honestly, I laughed. SWIMMING is a better body of work than any of the other nominees. And it’s really not close. NO SHADE THOUGH…December 26, 2018 at 3:24 pm #1202710741

He “was about to be” doesn’t cut it, and his album being good has nothing to do with him being very respected. This is his first Grammy nomination, and he got it posthumously with a new panel no less… He’s not winning.
