sweetener will get in because it is one of the most relevant pop albums in the eligibility period

Also, Dangerous Woman could’ve been knocked by Revival (which had like 3 #1 singles on Pop Radio – while DW had none at the time), or Zayn’s debut (which had a #1 single). So while competition wasn’t stellar, she still wasn’t the biggest of the bunch.

Plus the song itself landed a Pop Solo nom before Pillowtalk, Same Old Love, and the rest of the top 5 pop hits of that year.

In addition to this, it doesn’t help that her album has already started to fade, whatever the reasons might be.

Her album is still in the Top 20 on the BB200, selling 30k units a week consistently, and has almost reached 1 Million SPS, currently 896k, in only 2 months. GIAW is about to go #1 on Pop Radio and Breathin is about to hit the Top 10. I don’t understand why you keep trying to push this narrative that the album has been forgotten about when it’s performing better than most pop albums released this year.

Uh Sweetener Sweetener is definitely still one of the more relevant albums. Ariana’s personal drama has been keeping it alive. I don’t see why she wouldn’t get a pop vocal nomination.

She’s #14 on the 200, still top 10 on the Pop Charts on iTunes (despite the new releases), about to get her second #1 on pop radio this year, and breathin is starting to rise on iTunes and Radio. I don’t see the “fading”.

Ariana currently has two songs in the top 15 on CHR/pop, and they’re both gaining.

Or it just means that she’s good at streaming? There are many artists who’ve achieved this feat with the streaming industry getting a boost. 10 songs on the Hot 100 doesn’t necessarily equate to people giving a shit about the album itself, at this day and age.

It actually does. I mean, the albums that have album bombs on the chart usually are the ones who stay longer: Post, Drake, Ariana, all more relevant right now that someone like P!nk, despite selling less pure.

Just because you may not be listening as much, doesn’t mean that’s the case with the GP. Sweetener is still the highest charting pop album on Apple Music, currently #24, and Spotify figures have already surpassed 1.2 Billion.

To put that in perspective: Reputation is at 1.5 Billion despite being released like 8 months before.

reputation was withheld from Spotify for a month. Taylor sold 2.2M pure albums. Ariana Grande has sold around 200k with all of those merch packages too. Let’s not play the game of which album is more successful because it’s not hard to say that reputation is the most popular.

Why are we discrediting reputation while trying to credit Sweetener. Both are successful albums at the end of the day and both of them have had more longevity than the average female pop album.

Taylor had her tour pre-VIP thing going on.

And no one is saying Ariana sold more pure: but when it comes to streaming, she can definitely put most other girls to shake. Reputation being witheld a month has no effect whatsoever.

I mean, you understand, but some stans don’t.

Like, no one is saying Taylor won’t get in, I don’t know what’s your problem with Ariana when she clearly is getting that nom.

Are we actually saying reputation not being on Spotify for an entire MONTH had no effect. I have never heard anything more ludacris in my LIFE. The album not being on Spotify for such a pivotal time in it’s life literally is why it’s numbers aren’t extraordinary. Also Taylor sold under 1k vip packages per show. The most sales that it could’ve added was 40-70k and that’s barely anything. Anyways let’s look at SPS. reputation has 2.9M sps project sales which puts it at the #1 year-end album. Sweetener is not even close. I think that both are mildly successful albums (both departures from their peaks).
