Kelly Clarkson isn’t any more of a Grammy favorite than P!nk. She’s a perennial nominee and an also-ran. Grammy favorites actually win Grammys more often than not.

There are a bunch of rap albums that are due in the summer: Kanye West, Kid Cudi/Kanye West, Nas, Drake etc. I wonder if Chance The Rapper is dropping this season, too.

Get real! Drake is NOT white enough to win ROTY/AOTY.

After Into You, Side to Side and Greedy (with special thanks to Drag Race), this is what Ariana Grande comes back with?

I would normally say wait for single #2 because Dangerous Woman wasn’t as great as the next singles, but even that song is amazing compared to this shitty new song.

After the success of her previous album, she was in a great position to really break through.

Given how critically weak this year is, I wouldn’t be surprised if No Roots got Pop Solo and SOTY, and maybe ROTY nominations. As we saw with “The Story of O.J,” “Really Love,” “Lonely Boy,” and “Thinkin’ Bout You,” a song doesn’t have to even chart in the top 20 to be nominated for ROTY.

The only question re:No Roots is if it was entered last year. It’s over a year old.

Being entered last year would disqualify it from SOTY, and while an alternate version would be eligible for ROTY, they haven’t nominated such versions (Happy, Set Fire to the Rain, etc.) in recent years.

Honey, Ariana Grande will get her usual Pop nominations. That’s it!

I really hate that stupid rule. It has hindered great songs from being nominated, like “Happy” and “If I Die Young” (which i still feel would have given Adele a run for her money that year, and would have swept the Country categories!)

Well, maybe NTLTC could also be in ROTY. I’m not 100% sure yet.

Kelly got in for non-hits “Heartbeat Song” and “Love So soft”, is the most nominated person in Pop Vocal Album and Pop Solo categories, and P!nk’s 3 grammys are from defunct categories. Kelly is the bigger favorite.

“Favorite” would suggest that you actually win more often than not.

This will probably be the year when rock, alternative, country and an album with widespread acclaim wins AOTY.
