this Year has good songs but very weak albums overall. It’s more than halfway through the period and I can’t even make an AOTY shortlist with 8 worthy albums. 2016 was such a great year.

Record of the Year short list:

“This is America” – Childish Gambino
“Meant to Be” – Bebe Rexha & FGL
    “Nice for What” – Drake
    “Perfect (live)” – Ed Sheeran

I haven’t heard any other song that I could see getting in yet. Hopefully the summer delivers.

    Pop Solo:

Ariana Grande – No tears left to cry
Shawn Mendes – In My Blood
    Ed Sheeran – Perfect (live)
Kelly Clarkson – I don’t think About You
The Weeknd – Call Out My Name

    Pop Duo:
Justin Timberlake & Chris Stapleton – Say Something
Sam Smith f/ Logic – Pray
Bruno Mars f/ Cardi B – Finesse (remix)
Maroon 5 f/ SZA – What Lovers Do
Bebe Rexha f/Florida Georgia Line – Meant to Be

    Pop Album:

    man of the woods
    Reputation
    The Thrill of it All
    Beautiful Trauma
    Sweetener

Man of the Woods won’t win Best Pop Album.

Guys, Just because we have a song or album at our “1.” or first spot in the category doesn’t mean we predict it to win. Idiots

Always put “no particular order”; it helps clear out confusion

It’s better to predict Grammy nominations in no particular order.

Get real! “Perfect (Duet/Live), ” if eligible, will NOT get ROTY/SOTY noms. That song came and went.

    Agree. It’s hype vanished quickly.

Yep! Christina’s first legit contender this year. I could see it happening in Pop Duo/Group, if they play their cards right.

I can see Xtina’s Fall In Line going to TOP 10 on Hot 100.

And I think Xtina has good shots for Pop Solo , Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Duo Group Performance.
“LIBERATION” will be her most successful album since “BACK TO BASICS”.

Christina’s new single is currently selling as many copies as This Is America, without a music video/radio airplay yet. (http://kworb.net/pop/)

It’s a contender for Pop  Duo in my opinion. The lyrics are great, the rythm pretty good, the vocals amazing. Pop Duo is voted by the actual members of the Academy. So I still have faith in Pop Categories. I can see her pulling a Lana Del Rey this year.

Duo contenders so far: Justin Timberlake & Chris, Ed Sheeran & Beyoncé (for sure), Christina Aguilera & Demi Lovato.

Well now it went down to #3 and was beaten by The Backstreet Boys.

And as much as I despise Ed Sheeran, I wouldnt say that it came and went. I still hear both the original and the Beyoncé version on the radio all the damn time (who is still requesting and buying the song I have no idea other than old people). It went #1 back in December, stayed in the top ten for months, left for a week and then came back last week.

Also considering he got snubbed majorly last year, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Grammys nominated it for a major category to say they’re sorry (ugh). He’s so desparate enough to campaign too.

Confusion to who? Because its literally just you and miguel who aren’t using common sense.
