No clue but This Is America will be nominated and win. All the Stars by Kendrick and Colors by Beck are also likely nominees.July 9, 2018 at 11:18 am #1202581682

I don’t see God’s Plan getting in.

Drake doesn’t get a third #1 from Scorpion this week (although he himself is back to #1 with Nice for What), but he should next week with In My Feelings, further boosting his AOTY chances.
He’s also broken a host of records on the charts this week. To name a few: most simultaneous top 10s (besting The Beatles), top 20s/40s (Post Malone), and top 100s (his own record with More Life). He is now also 22 songs away from breaking Glee’s record for most career Hot 100 entries.July 9, 2018 at 12:22 pm #1202581712

Get real! St. Vincent is NOT a contender for an AOTY nom. As usual, she will be relegated to Alternative.July 9, 2018 at 1:34 pm #1202581743
^ Gucci, I’m curious to see your current top 8 for AOTY.
I’m confident with my top 6 at the moment but expect to see some surprises in the last 2 slots. Here’s how I see the nominations race:
Invasion of Privacy– Cardi B
Everything Is Love– The Carters
Golden Hour– Kacey Musgraves
Dirty Computer– Janelle Monáe
Black Panther Sountrack– Kendrick & various artists
Reputation– Taylor Swift
MASSEDUCTION– St Vincent
From A Room: Vol. 2– Chris Stapleton
God’s Favorite Customer– Father John Misty
Meaning of Life– Kelly Clarkson
Come Tomorrow– Dave Matthews BandJuly 9, 2018 at 1:40 pm #1202581747
^ No need to be curious about my AOTY predictions, dear.July 9, 2018 at 1:50 pm #1202581755
St. Vincent actually has a decent chance of getting nominated. Most of the rock/alternative albums in contention (Beck, Jack White, Gorillaz, etc.) don’t have strong enough reviews to make up for their low commercial visibility. Masseduction has a strong 88 on Metacritic, higher than every similar album in the mix, and being a female artist definitely helps in this year of all years.July 9, 2018 at 1:55 pm #1202581758
I’m praying Drake gets shut out like Ed Sheeran did. I can’t stand how overrated he has become.Marcus Snowden (The Artist Formerly Known as msnowden1)ParticipantJuly 9, 2018 at 2:49 pm #1202581767
Scorpion is looking mighty good for an AOTY nomination considering how successful some of the singles have been. With that being said, Reputation is still the strong front-runner in the category despite it’s paltry critical reception.July 9, 2018 at 2:52 pm #1202581772

In a perfect world The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Solara” and The Wombats’ “Cheetah tongue” would be nominated, but this category lost his credibility when Bowie’s “Blackstar” was snubbed.
