I have Shallow in SOTY & Visual Media but not in Pop Duo. I think it’ll be one of those songs that misses the genre field.

She also appeared in A Star is Born, which I’m sure a lot of voters will see. She may still be relegated to the Americana categories, but I wonder if she might also get submitted in the country categories (she’s performing this week at the CMT Artists of 2018 Honors)? It seems like most years there is an artist who I don’t always consider being country that breaks through in those categories.

He honestly does, keep in mind just going by chartdata, he’s halfway to 3M ww despite weak singles after TGAG, And the album is in the 70’s range in Metacritic, he deserves nods
He’s literally platinum or hell even possibly 2xPlatinum in the states, his album is past 1B streams on Spotify, this site will say his album come and gone when all actuality it’s staying rather decently consistent..

October 13, 2018 at 11:33 am #1202651991Don’t be delusional, Shawn Mendes is not getting nominated for a Grammy!
ReplyCopy URLOctober 13, 2018 at 11:41 am #1202651995‘In My Blood’ is a cheap remake of ‘Sign of the Times’, which didn’t get nominated. If Harry couldn’t get nominated, Shawn definitely won’t either.

His album has done better than Joanne, Rainbow and Lust for Life and all 3 were nominated this year. He’ll probably be nominated too.

ReplyCopy URLOctober 13, 2018 at 11:57 am #1202652013I dont have delicate on my top 5 and it definitely can be nominated but…winning?Mess
I don’t doubt it because it’s Taylor Swift, the Grammys love her, and it’s a very weak year(we don’t even have a frontrunner to win any of the GF categories). But yeah, it would be a mess.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 13, 2018 at 11:57 am #1202652014Why you say that?
I think Ella Mai will be in a similar situation of Meghan Trainor and she’ll be nominated next year since her debut album came out after eligibility.
Out of all potential nominees, Jorja is the only one with a semi-successful debut album WITH acclaim to back it up. Greta van Fleet adds something different to the table that the Academy hasn’t awarded BNA in a very long time.
H.E.R. may be a little too too under-the-radar to get rewarded, despite receiving a lot of praise this year for “Best Part” and “Focus”. Bazzi seems too fizzled out and temporary, and that’s saying a lot for a BNA nom. Luke Combs would be my 3rd choice and Dua Lipa my 4th.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 13, 2018 at 12:10 pm #1202652020Jorja is way too underground to win anything, and the hype for her album is pretty much gone. I don’t even think she’ll get into BNA.
