    Predictions for engineered album?

For Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, my picks would be:

    • Assume Form (James Blake)
    • thank u, next (Ariana Grande)
    • Western Stars (Bruce Springsteen)
    • Homecoming: The Live Album (Beyoncé)

I must say that I’ve never predicted correctly in this category, but these are just a few guesses. It’s normally one or two of the nominees in this category that are commercial successes. The rest, not so much.

I’d like to ask what are the possible nominees for Best Recording Package. I think that this album entails the entire packaging of the album and not just the front picture because Be the Cowboy (Mitski) may not have received a nomination for just the front cover, but I saw a physical copy and have a digital booklet for the album and I now understood more why it was nominated. However, this might be a coincidence. I haven’t read the definition of the category yet to understand fully what’s being looked at when considering works for nominations.

What I have noticed in the past nominations is that a lot of the more critically acclaimed albums that fail to make nominations in the major categories seem likely to get nominated or win in this category.

MASSEDUCTION (nominated for Best Rock Song for “Masseduction” and Best Alternative Album) won this. Another St. Vincent effort, Love This Giant, her collaboration with David Byrne also won in this category but wasn’t nominated elsewhere.

    What about original score?

Does anyone think Ramin Djawadi can finally win for Game of Thrones’ last season?

FYC: Lena Headey ("Game of Thrones") for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Miguel Sapochnik (“Game of Thrones”) for Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series

I’m sure he’d get nominated. Not sure about a win though.

    What about the blues categories?

It makes me sick that the Grammys do not present some of these other categories because it would be a huge boost to these artists.

Tell me about it. In the Blues categories, for Contemporary Blues album, I’m guessing Gary Clark Jr.’s This Land would be put there. Not sure if it’d be the right category though.

Would James Blake’s Assume Form be considered in the Alternative Music category?

Mariah Carey for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical…

She has competition this year but I would love for her to get nominated. I would say Jack Antonoff is the strongest this period ? If not anybody else ?

Not eligible. Current rules require artists to have credits on someone else’s music during the eligibility window.

    I doubt Mariah’s a standout producer really.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I know Mariah was the first woman to have ever been nominated for Producer of the Year… and that was in 1991…Since then, only 6 other women have been nominated (Paula Cole, Sheryl Cole, Lauryn Hill and Linda Perry)

Bear in mind that this award has existed since 1975

    What in the absolute misogyny…
