@TalkofTheCharts are predicting Rockstar to hit #1 this coming Monday.

I think once it hits, it’ll stay #1 for a while. Its streams are quite strong.

lawd. Album sales are abysmal these days. I remember when posters on here called Lover a flop for only selling 867,000 in its first week. Lol.

It’s really looking like ROCKSTAR could be the next The Box with little to no competition and I don’t see anyone wanting to release a big track for a little while. ROCKSTAR keeps growing. Intentions might be blocked by Roddy like Yummy was and I’m good with that.

Is it fair to say “The Box” is this year’s OTR? O_o

Maybe it’s the closest, but honestly most years don’t have an OTR.

I would say no. It didn’t have the same cultural impact as Lil Nas X’s song had. The chart performance of “The Box” benefitted greatly from a lack of competition. Even with his song’s 11 week reign and his album’s top performance, I don’t see Roddy really being recognized as a crossover artist.

I could easily see him sweeping the Rap categories at the Grammys with nominations/wins and end up with zero nominations in the General Field.

I have no idea what a crossover artist is supposed to be, but he is one of the biggest artists of the year. The Box is also one of the strongest number ones of the the previous years in terms of points, so your no competition argument is baseless.

Honey, I knew “Rain On Me” would be a dollar store #1.  So much for it spending multiple weeks @ #1.  YAY!

Girl the song just started charting. So long it’s stable in streams and sales, it can repeak later. You know it took Blinding Lights months before it blew up in March.

Don’t jump to conclusions yet. One thing’s for sure, is that it’s not going to leave the TOP10 in its second week, like it happened with many debuts recently (YNTCD, Heartless, SWU, The Scotts etc..)

For me so long it stays in the top 10 until radio catch up, I’m happy.

I wouldn’t compare OTR and The Box. OTR had MAJOR crossover appeal into multiple genres. I’d say most of the Adult Top 40 crowd have never heard of The Box.

My predictions for ROM is to drop to 4-6 tomorrow mainly because of much lower airplay than the rest of the top 10 (except for Rockstar).

It will further drop to 7-10 the following week. After that it should stabilize and rise again if it continues making good radio gains like it is right now.
