Simon’s predictions for next week are out. Nice to see a highly-anticipated collaboration match the expectations. What’s impressive that this song still doesn’t even have a radio deal. I’m hoping they make one for the second week. But overall it’s nice to see Gaga and Beyoncé go #1 this month. Like them or hate them but the longevity their careers have is pretty impressive.

Damn poor Katy Perry, -50 this week….her career is really over.

Gaga debuting at #1 while Katy tanks to #90 is the ultimate irony after that 2013 bullshit. This is just too funny

Forgot about that, but I am so thankful to be reminded

To be honest, I also am happy to see Beyonce and Gaga being the ones who still get #1s. Katy Perry being forgotten is kind of satisfying.

A more detailed breakdown. ROM’s radio points are tragic. Only 4% come from radio. This really needs to change for it to have longevity

Stuck With U at #18 💀. It really just was a quick hit masked with good intentions.

    Anyways

Let’s see how ROM numbers go next week, because I would like to know if I get to keep it as my frontrunner for pop duo or should start considering other songs.

    FYC:
    Phoebe Bridgers: BNA
Punisher - Phoebe Bridgers: Alternative album

    Megan Thee Stallion: BNA
Savage (Remix): ROTY, melodic rap performance

folklore - Taylor Swift: Pop Vocal Album
exile - Taylor Swift & Bon Iver: Pop Duo or Group
betty - Taylor Swift: Country Song

    Jaime - Brittany Howard: AOTY

    Rina Sawayama: BNA

Caution - The Killers: Rock Performance

Women in Music Pt. III - HAIM: Alternative album

Honey, start exploring other options.  “Rain On Me” is NOT going to live up to the hype (a.k.a. no longevity).

I mean it’s not going to plummet as some people eagerly want it to. But it’s probably not going to stay at #1 either with no airplay. Radios won’t catch up fast enough. But it’s not like there’s a stronger contender than ROM in Pop Duo/GP right now.  I don’t see Intention winning and my My Oh My! started plummeting the moment Billboard changed radio weight.

This a collaboration between someone who won a Grammy with an album track over a 6-platinum #1 song and someone who got nominated with a standalone single that made little commercial impact.

They definitely don’t have to be “undeniable” to be nominated or even win.

My bad, I thought it hit #1 in January. In that case, I think The Box and Blinding Lights are the only consecutive #1’s.

    Anyway, they’re all nice songs

    FYC:

Chromatica: Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album.

Rain On Me: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Music Video.

    Alice: Best Pop Solo Performance
