“Thank U, Next” will only possibly win Pop Album cuz none of the songs can be considered phenomenal in terms of music ,not popularity.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but are you saying she won’t win for either reason? I honestly think both quality and popularity will help her. It just depends on her presence throughout the year, and of course, we haven’t heard all the competition.

I think that fact she won this year may have a slight impact, but voters may not care.

Ariana Grande has better reviews than 6/8 of last year’s AOTY nominees. She’ll be fine.

Pop voters don’t care about reviews. Remember when they gave Pop Vocal to Divide?

And if you’re insinuating that she’s going to win AoTY. I don’t know what to say…

She may get a nod, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The album has only spent 2 weeks on top on HOT200, whereas Scorpion for example spent 5 and still lost.

What? I was responding to the claim that Thank U Next is not being that good, and I meant that, for the majority, Thank U Next is of great quality. Critics and audiences agree.

And of course Pop voters don’t mind critics, she’s still in the lead based on sales.

Never said she was winning AOTY or even insinuated that.

I predicted it for both when writing for my college newspaper and got mocked by my dear sweet colleagues, oh well

to me thank u next is basically shake it off with an earlier release date, both massive hits, both placed 4th in the annual critics’ poll, but don’t get their due in these predictions here thanks to fun vacuums calling them “too repetitive”

Sucker is just a song that can be played over and over. I think it will get some sort of win at The Grammys.

People didn’t predict Shake It Off, because they thought that after Red’s underperformance, the Grammy’s were over Taylor Swift.

The same could happen for TS7. The Grammy’s may nominate her again if it’s good and successful.

Also, we know that the announcement for her lead single from her upcoming 7th album will likely come this week because she will attend the iHeartRadio Music Awards next week where she will receive Tour of the Year and possibly Best Music Video for Delicate.

I wonder how many prediction threads we’ll go through this season.

I wonder how many prediction threads we’ll go through this season.

Ariana, Taylor, Gaga, Rihanna, and possibly Bey may all be eligible this year. That’s all the main pop girls. This forum is gonna be deadly
