I don’t see none of the pop girls winning.

Billie is too new, Ariana is still not on that level, Taylor already won twice, and I’m not buying the Gaga hype.

I don’t think it’s impossible for them to win, specially Ariana and Gaga since they have such a good year, but it just feels weird.

I think you’re spot on with this. It seems like a year that a random Arcade Fire / Beck / Daft Punk style win. Something well reviewed, but not commercially huge. I just don’t even know who that would be at this point.

and… Bruce Springsteen has a new album of original material for June…

I would NOT be surprised if this went on to be the AOTY winner.

Um, what? She is a horrible vocalist. Her enunciation is pathetic. I need to consult an Ariana-to-English dictionary every time she releases a new song even though we’re both native English speakers. She can put out a catchy tune but that’s it.

this is just not true tho

rihanna didn’t have a #1 song since 2013 until she needed drake Gaga needed bradley cooper and Beyoncé needed ed sheeran Ariana didn’t need anyone to have 2 in a row no disrespect to any of them but ari is more relevant and successful now facts

Keep burning Riri is still winning.

ME!— Featuring Brendon Urie, of Panic! at the Disco, is what the song is called.

Hopefully it isn’t too bad because it’s labeled as Alternative/Punk…

Back to Back SOLO Female Album of the Year wins have only happened twice in the history of the Grammys.

1996/1997 – Jagged Little Pill and Falling Into You
    2016/2017 – 1989 and 25

A GAP of exactly 20 years. If you’re someone that goes off trends and statistics you could say that it’s unlikely a Solo female artist wins AOTY next year.

Kinda unrelated. They don’t vote just because the artists are female. All of the lead contenders and albums this year are female outside of hip-hop, which has a bad track record in AOTY.

For Taylor, I feel the negative vibe reputation and its lead-up had really killed the buzz of the album. This promo / aesthetic is super light and positive. It suits the summer release date. If the song is a light, positive poppy summer song, I feel like this is going to be a great era for her. Leaning more towards the Delicate, Gorgeous, New Years Day, Call it What You Want, side of reputation will do her well.

Taylor Swift changing a 13-year release pattern for Adele.

It was a deliberate change of release date. She’s definitely trying to evolve and gradually grow into a mature artist. It’s a smart move for her to break the pattern and start fresh.

I’m not sure he’ll even be considered, but it would be so refreshing to give Ben Platt a Pop Vocal Album nom, specially in such a weak year. Such a great singer and album. I MEAN
