Can You Feel The Love Tonight isn’t an R&B song just because it’s covered by Beyoncé and Childish Gambino. It would be submitted to pop like the original was, if submitted at all.

I also think that while Billie will get several nods, she’s being overestimated wayyyy too much as this lock to win over everyone. She’s not “niche”, she’s a pop artist who started off as indie and used that as her aesthetic which turned into a weird, “out there” emo-ish style. She’s not like Lorde where the latter has actual unconventional sounds and dreamlike themes to her music that will always have critics and her fans falling over her.

I think they’ll send “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” only to Pop Duo.

Beyoncé will be singing a solo song written by Elton, and that’s the song I think will get the GF push at the Grammys, to support an Oscar push.

I believe the charts will set everything about Lion King at the Grammy Awards.

i’m getting dragged for saying “can you feel the love tonight” could be submitted to r&b like this is isn’t the Grammys we’re talking about. like they don’t make racist decisions every year.

All I’m saying is that I wouldn’t be surprised If “can you feel the love tonight” gets a r&b nomination but if it gets a pop nomination Then “old town road” needs to get a country nomination, “7 rings” needs to be submitted to rap/sung, And “Cuz I love you” to pop vocal album too

I never accused you of racism though.I just don’t see how a cover from an already nominated in pop categories song would be nominated on R&B.

Can you feel the love doesn’t sound like a potential nominee in this pretty competitive Pop Duo/GP lineup.

Personally, I’m not dragging you. I’m just saying that there’s no way they would submit it to R&B unless they changed the instrumentals of the song. Besides, Beyoncé would submit Before I Let Go to that category and she would be competing with herself there.

No one said she would win SOTY for Bad Guy. Hell, She could submit When The Party Is Over instead. It’s a much profound track than any in her album. I think Billie would be fine if her brother were to snatch the award instead of her. They seem very close that I feel like one win is a win for both of them. Idk, If not Billie than who? Who? Thank U, Next? Old Town Road? Seriously.

I’m sure Can You Feel the Love Tonight will sound amazing, but I can’t see the Grammys awarding a cover…

I’ll place my Beyonce bets on the solo song.

Honestly who would win record of the year? I mean my beat is Ariana. I think Billie could get nominated or have a Kacey Musgraves expérience next year where she’s in one of the 3 main gf catagories. But Halsey could be up there. And of course Post Malone having 2 smash hits. Lil Nas X could contend. That’s currently the field because I can’t imagine anyone else winning except Ariana or Halsey, maybe even Post Malone.

Beyoncé is a 23-time Grammy winner who the pop voters have shown plenty of love to in the past (Halo winning then the live version being nominated the year after) and in recent years ( Hold Up, a song which clearly isn’t really Pop and wasn’t even sent to Pop radio being nominated). Donald Glover just received tons of Grammy love last year winning ROTY & SOTY. The two pairing up to cover a classic song which will be in the second highest grossing film of the year…

While it is not a lock to be nominated, to say it doesn’t even sound like a potential nominee is just wrong.

Out of mainstream music that has been released this year and is eligible, Billie Eilish feels like the only realistic option to win Record and/or Song of the Year. Most of the stronger choices (“High Hopes,” “Happier,” etc.) are from last year’s cycle.

Maybe something that wasn’t a hit will win.

You have these examples, but pop voters also passed over “6 Inch,” “Die With You,” “Best Thing I Never Had,” “Pretty Hurts,” and the massive #1 hit “Perfect.”

“Hold Up” was nominated in a relatively un-competitive year: Justin Timberlake submitted the Trolls version of “Can’t Stop the Feeling” in Pop Duo/Group, and apparently Lady Gaga didn’t even enter “Perfect Illusion” at all, so the next most likely nominees were Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Shawn Mendes.

I don’t remember how competitive Female Pop Vocal Performance was in 2011, although she did get in over the biggest hit of that year (“Tik Tok”).

However, I do agree that “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” is definitely in the hunt for a Pop Duo/Group nomination if entered. It’s an Oscar-winning song that everyone knows by two past general field winners.

Honey, if the Grammy Awards were tomorrow, Billie Eilish would win Record of the Year and Song of the Year. In addition to Album of the Year and Best New Artist.

Honey, stop using goldderby while you are doing meth! Billie Eilish is not getting any of the big three.
