Without Me would be a cool SOTY winner. I think Ariana or Post Malone could hold this catagory too. I hope that This Land by Gary Clark Jr could be the Brandi Carlisle of the year.

I’m still not predicting Without Me to get into the GF. Maybe The Recording Academy’s frosty reception towards Halsey may show again here. As for Bad Guy, I can definitely see it getting in the General Field.July 3, 2019 at 6:24 am #1202960656
What is this “frosty” reception?
She didn’t get in with a #8 hit that was more than one year old. It was definitely not a snub. It didn’t deserve to be nominated.
Without Me is very likely to be in the GF.July 3, 2019 at 6:29 am #1202960662
Anything from asib sounds better on soty than most of the hits this yearMarcus Snowden (The Artist Formerly Known as msnowden1)ParticipantJuly 3, 2019 at 6:37 am #1202960666

It was #5, and I feel like she would’ve at least been nominated for BNA by now.July 3, 2019 at 6:42 am #1202960670

She’s been around since 2014. And when she had her first solo hit I’m pretty sure she was not eligible.July 3, 2019 at 7:40 am #1202960699
“Without Me” could easily be passed over in the general field, especially considering it’s from the top of the eligibility year and Halsey has never been nominated for her own material (even just this past year, “Bad at Love” was passed over in Pop Solo in favor of the less popular “God Is a Woman,” “Joanne,” and “Colors”).July 3, 2019 at 7:48 am #1202960712

Your BNA lineup is identical to mine. Almost as if you copied it. But nonetheless, Agreed.July 3, 2019 at 7:52 am #1202960720
Anyway, instead of arguing too much over winners – I think we can all agree, if nothing else, that it will be either Billie or Lizzo – who else do you think will join them in the lineup?
As of right now Maggie Rogers and Lewis Capaldi seem safely in, and I think Yola will be nominated as well. After that, it’s pretty questionable. Dean Lewis, Meghan Thee Stallion, DaBaby are my tentative picks to round out the category.
Conversely, I think Lil Nas X can easily be ruled out – he’s obviously not in it for the long haul – and Ava Max seems unlikely as well as a one-hit wonder who isn’t particularly distinctive.
I think besides Billie, Maggie and Lizzo. I think we are gonna have surprises.

Gaga is NOT getting another SOTY or ROTY nomination next year.July 3, 2019 at 8:37 am #1202960795
it is possible that she can not but I would not put as 100% sure that she will have nothing in SOTY or ROTY we do not know where the grammy love by A Star Is Born can do.
plus if they really wanted to give her AOTY I would not be surprised if she had something in SOTY and ROTY.July 3, 2019 at 8:57 am #1202960818
They can give her AOTY without song nominations. They already nominated and awarded Shallow last year.
And I’m still not 100% convinced she’ll get in AOTY. If she does, she’ll win, but she could very well be snubbed by the panel.
